Anyhow, who here likes these guys? They made some quite silly songs in the late 1990's, and have recently rejoined together. I think they're a good band that often gets passed by as a novelty act, although they show a ton of musical genius. Their drummer is one of the best I've heard, and most of their songs are extremely catchy pieces of pop-rock perfection. As of now, I own the self-titled disc, II, and Pure Frosting. My good friend and I split ownership of Freaked out and Small and Love Everybody. If you ask me, their new stuff isn't nearly as clever as the first two discs, but is in no way weak. Anyhow, feel free to discuss them in here.

Post Scriptum: I searched and found a thread on these guys, but it was several months old, and I was afraid to bump it. Sorry if I messed up.

Crazy, I listened to their S/t (I think, the one that starts with Kitty) earlier today in fact. Definitely good from what I've heard, but I think it's just that one CD.

That's the one. II is, in my opinion, better than the S/T album. It has songs like "Mach 5," "Twig," and "Froggie." You should try to listen to their other stuff if you like the first one.

Also, the theme song to The Drew Carey Show, "Cleveland Rocks," is performed by them.

Yeah...I saw the link, but I was afraid it was too old to bump (I know they're really strict about that kind of stuff in other forums). I'm sorry if I screwed up.

POTUSOA was one of the first rock bands I got into back in the day. The singer plays on a "2-string bassitar," which is a guitar body with the two lowest bass strings on it. Strange instruments for strange people.

Somehow, though, with five strings amongst the entire band (Can't forget Dave Dederer's three-string guitbass and Jason Finn's no-string drumset), they do more than a lot of popular bands today...

One of the first bands I really got into. I loved them. I mean, they said "****" in Kitty. How cool is that?

Is that that band who sings that peaches song?

Yes. Awesome video clip too. Ninjas and whatnot.

"Mach 5" has a hilarious video with it, too...I like the ending a lot...

And random ninjas in a song about peaches cannot be topped. *Pops in Pure Frosting to watch said videos*

I just found out that Chris Ballew developed those instruments with Mark Sandman from Morphine, when they were in a band together.

I found This (http://pusa.cutthatout.com/peaches.html) interesting interpretation on "Peaches." I think someone had a bit of time on their hands...

"Clevland rocks"

All this energy callin' me,
Back where it comes from
It's such a crude attitude,
It's back where it belongs.
All the little kids goin' up on the skits go
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Jumpin' Jane Jean, and moonin' James Dean go
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Momma knows, but she don't care. She's got her worries too.
Seven kids, and a phony affair, and the rent is due.
All the little chicks with the crimson lips go
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Livin' in sin with a safety pin goin'
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
I got some records from World War II
I play 'em just like me grand dad do
He was a rocker, and I am too,
Now Cleveland rocks, Now Cleveland rocks
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Cleveland rocks! Cleveland rocks!
Cleveland rocks!
OHIO!!!!!

They rock! I own all of their albums. Their just nice, and yeah the drummer is pretty awsome and very underrated.

http://www.fabchannel.com/

there's an entire show here. look at the bottom left. Its a really nice show, you have to see all of it. The quality is really great too.

Its not their habitual guitarist though, but he's really great. They still play with 2 and 3 cords guitars.

Edit : the drummer also play with really small cymbals, like 12 and 10'' splash as crash, 10'' hi hats and 16'' ride.

That's a pretty cool video. Thanks. I don't have enough time to watch it all tonight, but there's always tomorrow.

From what I hear, they put on a great show. If you get the chance to go, you should.

I would also like to state that I finally got my s/t presidents CD back today. :D

They put on an excellent show. I saw them for free in a crowd of a bunch of hairy, drunk 40 year olds and hippies.

I love them, they were my first real favourite band. They'll always hold a place in my heart, haha. And I also loved them because they said fxck in Kitty. My aunt was shocked when my dad played it the song to her [it was on a sampler of all these cool songs called Filth], and I loved the look on her face. So I asked for the album for my birthday (or was it Christmas?), and really liked Lump and Peaches.

Haha, how can he ignore that it has the most blatant sexual connotation ever? Hehe, funny though, well thought of.

Also, has anybody seen the Weird Al video for "Gump?" (Parody of POTUSA's "Lump") I saw it the other day and just noticed that Weird Al's band was made to look just like The Presidents, along with directly parodying their videos. Pretty funny stuff if you like the Presidents...

Wow, well I really like the presidents, but I didn't know that they were big enough for Wierd Al to cover a song.

I have one cd that I used to listen to alot, however, it's burned so I dont know which one it is. It has the song about the "Tube Amplifier" and the one that starts out with, "Hello ladies and gentlemen..."

great band though
