Most Distortion pedals will be under 100. Just look at the other boss models or the Digitech.

Eh, I have the distortion + and its really not that great. If you get an eq with it its decent, but after all that your spending quite a bit. Go with the MT-2 or the Jekyll & Hyde.

Double muff is alright for a heavier blues tone, but the sustain is ****... I would recommend a digitech distortion pedal. Possibly death metal or the one that is the next stage down- both are very good.

i personally don't like distortion pedals, nothing beats real tube saturation distortion, but if i had to say the Metal Zone is the only distortion pedal i would consider buying

I'd have to say the Metal Zone is one of the last distortion pedals I would consider buying.

Yeah I agree, tube saturation is about a bazillion times better than a distortion pedal in my books. But if you really want one, get a Boss OD-1 or a BD-2. The OD-1 is for more of a metal/rock tone while the BD-2 is more of a blues (big surprise) or classic rock but can also breach the metal category when turned up.
