Hi

i just snapped a string on my Jem 7V

ive restrung it and im currently stretching out the strings but ive noticed that the trem angle isnt parralell and i was wondering does the trem angle matter if it is straight or not?

and how would i get it to be parallel i dont want to mess with the springs as its brand new and hardly played but the strings were a bit old. Ive had many problems with trem angle before and was wondering if i detuned the guitar so the bridge angle was same wouldnt it mess up my stretching?

You have to tighten the strings on the back. DOes that use an edge pro?

yeah, you need to tunre the guitar, but doing each one and holding the bar so the bridge is parralell to the body. DO that for all the strings (so bascially when the tremelo is parralel it will be roughly in tune). Then u need to take the back off and adjust the springs. Thats what i had to do with my new BC Rich.

yes it uses an edge pro

i was pretty peaved off... i restrung it al lwith a brand new pack of D'Addario havnt used them in ages then spent about 2 Hrs stretching the strings.. was about to get it all ready then the High E SNAPS  altho i did have a nice rotosound one where they give u 2 High E strings per pack very handy

The bridge has alot of tension coming off the strings but im not sure if i should leave it for now or set it up

if i leave the trem angle a bit slanted will it in any way affect the guitar

also i found that when i had the new High e installed it wouldnt go to tune so i took it off and let more string be put on... then when stretching Something snapped and the string dropped from High E to low A and im not sure what The hell happened... im hoping that the Kink that formed Unravelled when i tuned it around the peg any ideas what it was?

i used to have an RG1620X and i used to mess with the springs in the back when i restrung until one day the whole thing broke... When i use whammy It NEVER returns to its normal pitch and basically its been unplayed for over 8 months and its gone all rusty now and im not really happy a person said it was the 2 Bridge saddles and ive been waiting since June for the new parts

i found that when i restrung mine, the bridge kept going up and up, because its floating, until the e snapped. you need to hold the tremolo parallel then tune it, i tried it, and it was really easy. then that way, you know when the bridge is parallel it will be in tune. If you are using the same type of strings as last time it should be parallel anyway
