9,999 posts man!
I'll see if I can do anything with it, but on the whole, those exercises look pretty cool, and good to incorporate into playing. Thanks for the find!
Just curious, where'd you get that from? What book?

Hahahaha, I don't even see how one could play most of this stuff.

tempo? I could play it, at 60 BPM.
Jezen

Yeah it's dead simple at 60. What tempo should we be playing it at J?
EDIT: Just played it a 70...

I'm thinking, dam I want to see if I can play that then I realized I have a practice pad on my desk!, I'm gonna give it a try and tell you how it went Cheers
Edit: I just read it and its only the top line, I thought you meant the whole thing, eh top line is harder though sextuplets!(or 16th note triplets not sure if theirs a difference) Woah didn't realize how tricky it was especially hard to play in time w/o a metronome, I did pretty bad, barely got through the 2 bars
How do you play the top line anyways?

That triplet landing on the E is hell.
Jezen

When playing this to a metronome, just think of the triplets as a 3:2 poly.

...Except for the first bar, where the triplet starts on the "E" of 1, followed by and preceding a diddle with the right hand. That's the tricky part...I think I've got it down, but getting the triplet even while staying in time is a challenge.

I didn't think it was that hard, only keeping the 16th trips. even which occours in any solos with 16th trips.

Where do I start:confused:
A deceivingly hard 2 bar phrase...
Det_Nosnip
10-22-2005, 12:06 AM
I think I've got it down. The second bar is a little....messed up, and goes way over the bar (or beat...whatever). Essentially, it's a 3/16 phrase repeated 4 times and then topped off with a nice and refreshing beat of sextuplets phrased as double strokes.
Each triplet is worth 2 16th notes, each diddle is worth 1. So, the first diddle lands on beat 1, the 2nd lands on the a of one, the 3rd lands on the & of 2, and the 4th lands on the e of 3, which puts us right onto beat 4 for the regular sextuplets.
That, British Boy, is NOT dead simple! :P

That certainly looks challenging to say the least.

Ok Ted, not dead simple, but easy enough.

Compare your tab to the notation - can you spot the difference?
Jezen
10-26-2005, 07:36 PM
Hmm....I'm not sure if I am spotting any differences. Could you tab it?
Something akin to that, taken form your tab. The "straight" notes are faster then the triplet notes. A diddled 16th or two 32nds is faster then a 16th note triplet.
It's a 32nd note diddle, 16th note triplet, 32nd note diddle, 16th note triplet, 16th note triplet... etc

Oh yeah I know it's a double stroke, but I thought people were struggling with the triplet. So really it should look like this:
CN|1--+--2--+--3--+--4--+--|1--+--2--+--3--+--4--+--|
SN|Oo----O---o---o---Oo----|O---o---o---O---o---o---|
HD|RR----L---L---L---RR----|L---L---L---R---R---R---|

If you want it smooth take it slow-
I'd break up those first 2 bars into 4 bars and sssllllloooowwwwwww down the tempo then progrssively double as it had better feel
