Whenever I go on message boards or cd review sites, It seems everyone hates them. I know there sound isnt really original, but it still sounds good. Is there something they did that pisses everybody off?

I don't hate Bush (the band)

I don't have any albums, but I downloaded a lot of their songs. I think they're pretty decent singles band. They just never did anything too original to make them a great band (in my humble opinion)

Bush eh? "Glycerine" is alright if you ignore the words and emphasize on the feeling and the over-used chord progression. As for the rest, there are a few sporadic songs that rock, but nothing that makes my fingers tingle. Meh. Not my thing.

Bush, eh? I think voting is a waste of time and an insult to the use of people lined up in an orderly fashion. Also, anyone who thinks he or she can properly control one of the most powerful nations in the world has to be crazy, so Bush isn't good in my book.

Bush, eh? I prefer a neat trim, though not a complete shave.

They seemed real engineered, to me at least. Gavin had sex appeal and wrote very little if any ( I'm not sure about this) of the band's material, and they borrowed their sound from a lot of American influences, which probably hurt some of their credibilty in the UK.

I have Razorblade Suitcase, and though I don't listen to it anymore its a pretty strong album though it's depressing as hell.

and it's Bush X.

Anyone see/hear Gavin's new band? They'd be mildly ok...if it was still 1997.

Uh, I think they were a really good band.

Some really good riffs and melodies, nicely written songs, and they produced some very interesting "noise" sounds. They were pretty successful commercially, but I don't think that can be held against them.

As for Rossdale "not writing" most of the album...thats pretty inconsequential. Good songs are good songs, regardless of who writes them.

I like Bush, not enough to buy an album, but they were still good. As stated before, Glycerine is a very good song.

Bush X in Canada.

Why's that?

Anyway, really boring band. I compare them to the Bravery in respect to both bands riding the tail-end of a musical fad and bringing nothing new to the table.

Apparently there was already a band in Canada called "Bush" and they took offense to the fact that nobody knew who they were, so they forced Rossdale & co to release records under "Bush X"

Rossdale's lack of musical contributions and the heavy influence of recent (then) bands are a bit too coincidental.

If it was, I missed it; I left halfway through their set to get some merch and came back in time for Weezer.

I saw Bush live a few years ago and crowdsurfed. I thought they were pretty good live, but I think that was right around when Nigel Pulsford left the band for something. I have Sixteen Stone; I like it, but it's not on my all-time favourites list.

Same for me. I've always liked them, but never enough to buy an album or anything. I have quite a few of their songs on my computer.

I have all their albums. They started to weaken during Science of Things, and Garden State wasn't enjoyable all the way through, but their first 2 albums were great. Songs like "Distant Voices" and "Straight No Chaser" were underappreciated. I think they just got thrown into the post-grunge group, due to Gavin's guitar playing. The lead guitarist came up with some interesting sounds though. Solid group, solid sound.

I saw Cold open for Weezer.
Rivers helped write a song for them called "Stupid Girl," so I guess they're friends from different worlds!

Anyway, I have "Machinehead" and "Comedown" on my computer for some reason. I really don't need them because I can always hear them on the radio, but the former has a really catchy guitar riff and the latter has a really catchy bassline, so I keep them :(
