i am in a 3-man band, we play some sabbath covers and some megadeth and metallica stuff. i sing and play git, sometimes its hard, but manageable.

metallica is great for a 3 person band. i love their stuff because my first jam band did only that cuz we were in our early stages of playing.

Metallica suck.

Play Cream - Crossroads, Sunshine of your love.

metallica may be harder at times, as it often needs two guitarists. but definatly black sabbath.

i suppose any band with 1 guitarist would be ok, although u cant really have singing while soloing (not that i can sing, or solo very well for that matter)

Muse. They're a trio, and capable of pulling off amazing things. Songs like "Hysteria" come to mind...

Cream is also a great suggestion. Talk about an amazing trio... these guys are legend.

Jimi Hendrix. He did a KILLER version of "Sunshine of Your Love." "Purple Haze", "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)", "Spanish Castle Magic", "Red House", the great cover of "Killing Floor", et cetera. If anyone else says "ect" I'm going to have to kill someone. Probably the person who said it.

Another good trio is ZZ Top. For three people they make a whole lotta noise. "Sharp Dressed Man", "Gimme All Your Lovin", ET CETERA. They are a great band.

the RCHP only use 3 instrumentalists, try some of their stuff. Other than that Rush, Muse...

If you're into it, a bit of RATM or Audioslave would be fun, along with Muse and all the other things everyone else has already said...

Try Muse, Nirvana, or System of a Down for stuff that's fun to play but not too challenging.

yay for power trios!!! lol just play through aloota punk stuff, its boring but almost all of it was played by power trios, you can try some stuff by other bands, if you have a good bass player like i do have them harmonize the other guitar parts

van halen if you can manage - you might have to improv the bass bits, though

Care to back that up? I really hate it when people can't even back up their own statements.

Lots of bands in this thread have more than 3 members.
