I've been considering seeing the Misfits on the 30th. Most people have already warned me they are trash now. To give this some sort of point can anyone give me their current lineup? Anyone seen them and can give me an opinion of what you thought?

Kind already happened. Danzig played a few dates on the east coast and Doyle came out towards the end of his set and they played like 8 or so misfits songs.

Markey left and it's Robo & Dez form Black Flag. It's that with out Danzig their is no Misfits he wrote all the best songs and music for them. Hmmmmm Dez was the lead singer for black flag at one point they should do a 360 and instead of the misfits make it Black Flag with Only from the Misfits.

Exactly. When a "band" does nothing but play songs from an older band that 2/3 of the current band had nothing do with, and on top of that not even try to come up with new material, thats when it gets old.

It's only $17 bucks at the Engine Room. They took off the age restriction that's why I'm taking one of my younger friends. If you wanna see a good show in Houston look for anything at the Verizon Wireless Theater, it's a great venue.

I saw the Misfits twice so far and I'll be seeing them again in October (making it the third time this year) I really enjoy their shows, but its basically a mini version of the Danzig and Doyle Shows those are just insane (Doyle and Danzig play half an hour of Misfits songs at each set on the Blackest of the Black Tour),

the line up i saw in august was: jerry only, dez cadena and robo from black flag. it was cool, a good show. yeh it wasnt danzig era misfits but it was still worth seeing.

I love every misfits song I have ever heard, regardless of the lineup. Tell me, is it merely purists who miss danzig or is the show actually bad? If i went to see the misfits, I'd expect a huge nostalgia fest, and I'd be happy as long as they played the songs well.

I bought Famous Monsters, and the new Misfits sound a lot like my band, so I was kinda suprised about that- well, if Graves was a girl! :D The Forbidden Zone, Crawling Eye, Saturday Night, Living Hell, but especially Descending Angel and Helena, sound JUST like my band! To be honest, I prefer Graves *waits to be shot* to Danzig. I like the metally sound, but it kept the punk simplicity. I like it :)

Graves is considering joining again? That would rock. He's such an under-appreciated vocalist. Among the albums I've been using to teach myself to sing, American Psycho, Famous Monsters, and most of the Gotham Road mp3s a friend sent me are some of my favorites.

This'll be my first real punk show apart from a Lower Class Brats show I went too (I'm more of a rock&metal guy..). What should I expect from this? I know it's going to be packed. Is it pretty rough? As in, a buncha skinhead retards elbowing everybody etc.?

i read an articale about danzig rejoining the misfits too, but when i read the graves storey it was far more belivable. It's gonna be super sweet if/when its announced officialy. Anyway, Danzig will most likely never rejoin the Misfits. Though he did perform one concert with Doyle last year.

Doyle I believe is still on hiatus to spend time with his family until the next tour. He and his wife had their first child a year ago, so he stepped out of the touring life to help raise his daughter.

I doubt any announcement will be official until all the tours of the involved musicians are over.

Well I went last night, and despite some idiots there, it was ****in awesome. Danzig wasn't there =/ I also read it in the guitar world magazine but I guess what that is is Danzig reuniting with Doyle and just doing a buncha misfits songs, not him actually joining back with the misfits. Two of the opening bands were pretty crappy hardcore bands, but the third metal band Sickle was really good. And then after an hour of waiting for them to setup, they came on and opened with Halloween (!!!!!). The stage was like some freakin play or something, it was awesome. They ended with Last Caress and then came back with an encore playing Green Hell and ending with Die Die My Darling.

Yes, I heard about that too, but I'm pretty sure that it's false. I read that "Danzig re-unites" the Misfits, not re-joined them and at first when I read it I couldn't believe it but later I heard that he didnt rejoin them jus "re-united" them.

A lot of times when I listen to music I really like, or good music that I'm hearing for the first time, I get goosebumps. Danzig's voice is amazing. Especially for the subject matter of the Misfits' songs.

I would have said no dont go see the new misfits but after sitting down and really listning to them i thought "yeah i like these guys, its not what im used to but hell why not" and thats what i think you "haters" should take time to do because hey sometimes change is good! although i dont aggree that graves was the best lead singer. Danzigs haunting voice brought many greats to life :)

ps: im still not completely happy with jerry as lead singer but meh what ya gonna do.

Your also probably right that Graves is also very talented too and we should take the time to listen to the albums he made with the misfits, but i just dont like the concept of those albums. The misfits are now more metal than they are punk but they are not a crossover band either (like D.R.I.). they reunited for money and they got even more commercial success than they did when danzig was in the band, thus making them sellouts thus making me avoid the newfits. all in all, i dont HATe their new music, i just hate the concept of it

I listen to power metal quite a bit. Iced Earth, Blind Guardian, Demons & Wizards, Nightwish..none of it is really cheesy to me..but to each his own.

I always have liked Graves, I never cared which vocalist was in Misfits from the start since I haven't followed them until about 2 years ago. My favorite vocalist from the band is Graves followed by Danzig then Only. It really doesn't matter which vocalist is on which cd, they are all great to me.
