What an amazing movie. Although I can't understand alot of the words. Malcolm Mcdowell did an amazing job. If you haven't seen it, you need to.

Reading the book is a challenge unless you have some sort of ACO dictionary sitting next to you for the most part.

Real horrorshow movie though.

I had little problem understanding the book.

So is the movie >, < or = the book.

Yeah i saw the film a couple of years ago, then read the book recently, and man it was hard. Great though, i love how twisted they are at the start in the film.

There's not nearly as much Nadsat in the movie as there is in the book. So it's easy enough to understand for anyone who has read it.

I don't know, but I would have to say the movie = the book. They aren't exactly the same, but what the movie takes out, it makes up for it with other awesome scenes.

Oh and another question:

POSSIBLE SPOILERS

This is the only thing that got me confused in the book, did he rape the little girls or did he just beat them?

Are these the girls he picked up in the bar? Sorry, it's been a while since I've read the book or seen the movie.

The girls he picked up when he went to the record store in the book. He got irritated with the girl in the bar and shanked Dim.

He just seduced and brought home the girls in the book. Kind of like the movie, except the girls in the movie looked alot younger than the girls in the book.

By the way, one of my favourite books and movies.

Yeah, he doesn't rape or beat them. Just gives them the old in out in out.

The big guy died, I believe. It's been a long time since I read the book. (no body died in the movie) I pretty sure though. I know Alex met up with Pete before he began to turn back to his hold ways in the book.

I thought Dim became a cop?

Aww man I'm confused now and I returned the book already.

Hmm, it makes sense now, maybe he did?

It would make sense that Georgie-Boy died, because he tried to become leader of the droogs. I'll check out the book tonight and check.

I've heard a lot about the movie, but never had the pleasure of seeing it. Someone enlighten me - what was so controversial about it? I know it's famous for being one of the only NC-17 (American rating) movies to win awards, but what was so extreme in the movie?

It's generally a visually stunning, interesting, yet rather disturbing, movie.

A Stanley Kubrick movie as well, which means it can't not be awesome.

Definitly check it out. It's probably at your nearest Blockbuster. I saw it at mine.

It's just a few rape scenes. They're not nearly as extreme today as they were in 1971. One of my all time favourite movies.

Oh also it inspired a few real life mock-rapes back in the 70s, causing Kubrick to personally ban the movie in the UK.

My favourite book and movie. I can't say myself which is better, because the movie was great film work and had a lot of awesome scenes, but didn't have the 21st chapter, which wasn't Kubrick's fault since the US version didn't orginally have it. The book was also great, but took me 2 reads to completely understand everything and get all the underlieing meaning. The method I used worked pretty well, read the book, watch the movie, read the book, watch the movie. That way you get everything.

The soundtrack is also a great piece of work. Wendy Carlos' orginal version was a great synth feat and then the OST that was put out really went with the movie well. I even own it on vinyl.

And to answer and earlier question.
SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT

Dim becomes a millicent, Georgie died, and Pete got married (in the 21st chapter).

I've watched the film a few times, but I still have no idea what the themes of the movie are. Any help?

Madness, I always thought. Though I never really delved too deep into it. I was always more of a Space Odyssey man.

I would think something like free choice, the illusion of good and evil and that if we could really eliminate all thiings bad in the world do we really want to?

I don't care for it as much as others.

One of my least favorite Kubrick films.

It's a good movie and book. If you've read or seen either, I recommend reading the 21st Chapter. I thought it really completes it.

I like the book more so than the movie. And I didn't find it hard to follow at all, I thought from context all the words were extremely easy to figure out. I even ended up writing a page or so worth of translations for a friend of mine as some of us had used some of the slang for a little bit and she had no idea what we were talking about.

It questions reforming people to be good or bad. It questions the ideas of what good or bad really is, and it is also viewing a dystopian society caused by corruption of officials and ignorance on the behalf of the society.

I thought the book itself was overrated. A neat little job, but not really complex or profound. It's a fairly simple story.

Great movie and book. I've read the book and seen the movie too many times to enjoy it much anymore, but I know it's great.
