Yep though I frickin hate movies on tv because of the aspect ratio and such.

I mean Martin Scorcese's movie on woodstock was so heavily edited that you couldn't see one half of the screen for most of the time.

I love that movie. Last time I watched it, the girl I was watching it with said it was boring because nothing happened in it.

Forrest Gump is one of the only movies I like better than that one.

The Shawshank Redemption is brilliant. One of my favorite films. And certainly the best film adaptation of anything Stephen King ever wrote.

I just watched it too, and it was my first time. Absolute brilliance. Prision films rule. I hated how that rock and roll kid got shot though :(

Yeah, that part was sad. And when the librarian dude offed himself.

I just watched it again...Jesus, it's even better the second time. I cried when Brooks (the librarian) killed himself...As said before, definitely one of the greatest moments in any story EVER.

Yep. I've only cried twice in movies, at that part, and near the end of Phantom Of The Opera when the Phantom is looking at his monkey doll. :(

I never knew why the Shawshank Redemption got quite as much praise as it did. I mean, it was pretty good and a technical masterpiece, but it was quite melodramatic. It felt a little too good in places, and a little too bad in others.

Great movie.

I actually almost cried at the end, which is quite odd; a cry of happiness, very rare for me.

The first time I watched it I was expecting to be bored, but while watching it I slowly got drawn into Andy's struggle for freedom.

I didn't cry in the Brooks death scene, however it is certainly one of the most moving scenes of all time. I felt the ending scene was just as moving if not more, and it is one of the only movie scenes I've ever cried in. The only other movie I can remember that made me cry was The Lion King.

I find it amazing that this movie was such a box office dud.

Wow. What an amazing film.

The first time I watched it, I was immediatly drawn into it. I thought the acting was brilliant, and everything was well timed.

When Brooks killed himself I cried my eyes out. And the ending was so beautiful.

In fact, I'm going to go upstairs in a bit and watch it again. I've just decided.

Truly a great movie. I don't think any movie can debunk The Godfather, Citizen Kane or Vertigo in my eyes.

The other day on CH4 was the first time I had properly watched it as well, I had always assumed it was some crappy movie about people killing each other in prison. But then I actually watched it and it turned out to be an amazing film, the end was really good and happy. Although I wouldn't say it’s my favourite film, that spot is reserved for Leon.

great movie, a little tedious at times but i guess that fits its theme. morgan freeman is cemented as the greatest narrator of all time.

Brilliant film. I first watched it for part of my English course a few years ago and thought it was amazing. I want to read the book now.
