I'm staying home by myself this Friday, and I'm renting 3 horror films. What should I get? I've already decided to get A Nightmare on Elm Street 4, so I want to get two more. Any ideas?

It was Stanley Kubrick.
And I plan on watching Rosemary's Baby, The Shining, and Night of the Living Dead on Halloween. Those would be good choices.

It's a Kubrick movie based on the book. I wouldn't call it a horror movie, maybe a thriller at best. I wouldn't really suggest if you want a horror movie marathon. Otherwise it's a good movie.

Halloween, and The Shining.
I remember seeing one of the Nightmare... movies, and towards the end they're in a tunnel or sewer or something, and all of a sudden the kid with glasses becomes a wizard or something and shoots green lightning out of his hands. It was the worst scene in any movie I have ever seen. Period.

terra firma
Ju-on The grudge (jap one)
Battle Royale (for some fun)
Get one of the Halloween movies those are awesome. Battle Royale is banned in the U.S. smarts.
Pop music sucks

It's not banned!
Despite the popular belief that Battle Royale has been banned in the United States, that's not the case. The production company, Toei, refuses to license the movie for North American distribution and has already rejected offers from several North American companies.
A Tale of Two Sisters, one of the greatest movies I've ever seen.

I'd say it's a psychological thriller. It really ****s with your head. It scared me way more than any other horror movie did though.
OK its not banned the director just doesnt want to get blamed when stupid white trash high school kids try and act it out.

I'm guessing you mean High Tension. Sorry, it comes out Oct. 11 (I just checked). My bad; It's just been so long since I've seen it, I figured it'd be out by now.
What kind of scary movie are you going for?
Four Ton Mantis

You should get Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. It's not scary, just a dman good movie.
Voodoo Rabbit

The Exorcist
Is quite scary, I've seen bits of it, and the scariest thing, I thought, was Regan's Voice.
Night of the Living Dead
That is the BEST movie ever. Get that one!
Ju-on The grudge (jap one)
The American one is crap.
When I watched it with some friends, we had to entertain ourselves by making up that most of the male characters had 'The Haircut of Doom'
You should get Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho. It's not scary, just a dman good movie.
That is one great film!...

Wow, that was long.

The Thing is awesome. Not very many scary parts, but it's a huge gross out gore fest.
The Shining would be a good idea. That movie is creepy.

...Which was HORRIBLE (In the sense, that it was crap)...
Ju Rei: The Uncanny - A group of high school girls discover the truth to an urban legend when one by one, each begins to die under mysterious circumstances after witnessing a black hooded figure. Sounds quite boring, but it's been branded "The most horrifying movie to come out of Japan", which is quite a label to live up to.
Saw - I'm sure a lot of people will have heard of this. A psycho kidnaps 2 men and puts them in a room, trying to get the men to cut their own legs off to escape. It's quite graphic and gritty, and has lots of twists that are very unlikely to happen, but still entertaining.
Yeah, prolly Saw, Valentine was scary at the time when I first saw it, still a very good movie. Nightmare on elm street all suck IMO, Texas chainsaw massacre can be scary at times but still a awsome movie. (the new TCM).

The new 'Texas Chainsaw massacre' has ruined the first, I think.

Saw is amazing.
I haven't seen the original, but, I really like the new one. I'll check out the original some time.

White Noise - I don't care what you say, that thing made me **** myself on several occasions and scared the hell out of me afterwards, make sure you watch it with the lights out and the volume up. You probably wont class it as horror, but it's still good.
Dead Alive - More hilarious than scary, but it has plenty of gore.
The Devils Rejects - Quite recent, good if you've seen House of 1000 Corpses, plenty of gore and violence.

Alright. I've made up my mind to get Clockwork Orange but I don't know what else. Most likely Night of the Living Dead. Will I regret it?

A Clockwork Orange isn't a horror movie, but it is a good movie. 'Specially the death by ceramic peņis. :)
Night of the Living Dead is a classic movie. Bought it yesterday.
I say that's a good choice of films to watch. Enjoy your evening alone!
