So I need help on Morrowind, this is the first time ive ever played it, im borrowing it off a friend. Anyway, how do you attack? My question is as simple as that, I came out of the first village to explore and this jumping leech thing came after me so I right clicked the mouse then clicked on my dagger then right clicked and it had gone. Also, how do you get food without stealing it from people?

Set the Attack buttons in the Options menu, you have to draw your weapon first.

You don't need food to survive, in Morrowind, food is mainly used for potions, though some foods work well alone (eating bread restores fatigue.).

Resting. If you are on X-Box, it's either the white or black button. Do not rest in towns though, as it's illegal. Also, you can't rest if there are enemies nearby.

There isn't any. It means you're about to level up. Just rest for long enough and you should be able to assign points to three of your attributes.

Remember that before you want to attack you have to set your stance, so one button will bring up attack stance another one is for magic, I havn't played in a while so I can't remember the exact buttons though. You should just have a flick through the manual, that has all the buttons you'll need.
Also, do you have tribunal installed? If so, always be ready to fight when you go to sleep. :D

^^ The Dark Brotherhood guys... they aren't that bad. They die easily and the armor they wear is by far the best light armor you can get early in the game, unless you're a good thief of course.
Don't forget to talk to a guard about the attack.
