I hate out of time voice overs, I've never seen why some people dislike subtitles. Once you start watching the movies you soon forget you're reading subtitles and it all just flows naturally.

Yep..and here in Holland, every movie gets subtitled..It also has to do with a country's amount of ehm, illiteracy and affinity with the english language..over here, everyone gets English in school, but in Germany people dont..so basically every movie/series gets redubbed over there...and trust me, the A-Team in German is NOT FUN.

It's a cool movie just because of the effects. The movie is a bit slow in parts, and too fastened up in some others and the plot is so much better in the game, but of course it's impossible to focus all that greatness in a movie. Overall a 7.5/10 for me.

I completely agree, though the story was lacking at some points, the fighting owned any other fight scene. Well maybe.

I thought it was pretty mediocre. The story is thin with a very straight-forward and uninspired plot, and sometimes quite random scene transitions. Same old characters, none of which really show any significant character development other than the things we already knew from the game. Cloud gets about 80% of the attention, but his character is boring and predictable because it's basically just a rehash of his developments and discoveries from the game. And ffs, we've seen enough of his stupid flashbacks already.

It does look great though, and it has some awesomely choreographed fights. But that does not make a good movie and frankly, the action has its weak parts too. I mean, i know they're strong and all, but the way they just throw Cloud into the stratosphere like that is just ridiculous. Fight a giant bahamut up in the sky? No problem, we'll just give you a boost! Will five miles be high enough? Oh and don't worry about the landing, since you're a super hero and all. Lame.

I hate this movie more and more everyday, the fact people enjoy it gives me a deep hate for the human race. The fight scenes sucked, they were uninspiring. A good fight scene should make you wanna fight someone, at no point did any of the fight scenes make me want to fight someone.

You people are far too persuaed to enjoy something just because it has good graphics.

The action and effects are awesome, and there's some flashy editing and decent music, as well as fleshing out the FF7 story and game universe. But characterisation was lacking, even on Cloud, who hogged the screen for most of the time, and the Aeris thing was way overplayed. Most of the fights were so fast you could barely make out what was going on.

As a FF7 fan, I did enjoy it heaps though. Seeing all the characters again brought back heaps of memories lol. Some of the fighting moves are actually from the game, and when Kadaj jumps away from Cloud near the end, Cloud does the victory animation! hehe

There were alot of bits that made me go "yeah right". ^^That being the major. The fights were impressive but waaaayyy over the top. There were funny bits too. Reno and Rude providing most of the humour. Also, the "end battle" ring tone was funny, if a little self indulgent.

In any case, the movie was a decent trip down memory lane...

Tell me what was good about the story in AC? The story was so incredibly generic and boring and plain, I couldn't have cared less about any of the characters. About 10 mins must have been spent writing that story.

spitfirejunky

They totally deemphasized the roles of the other characters. I wanted to see Vincent do some beast action.

And the bullshit scene with the redhead and the dude in the suit and shades really needed to get cropped out. I mean, what the **** was that? That waste of reel time could have easily been budgeted towards another good fight scene.

Not that this would have made the movie good, but Reno and Rude should have been cool type characters not losers who try to be funny. They were like a japanese attempt at brittish humor.
That waste of reel time could have easily been budgeted towards another good fight scene.
There were no decent fight scenes anyway, it's just alot of crap happening that is to over the top and fast paced to follow.

You must of noticed how clever the way Kadaj and co were the failed clones of sephiroth, that Hojo made when he thought Sephiroth was dead? And that explained why Kadaj turned into Sephiroth, when he Jenova Cells hit him, because it was the only missing from the Sephiroth clones, and the way that Sephiroth was so obviously controling them, like he did to the old, failed Sephiroth clones, like the way he did to Cloud in the game. The way Aeris still hasn't gone back into the lifestream yet, because she still has to protect the others, unfinished buisiness, if you will. The geostagma thing also explained how Jevona killed the original ancients with the "virus" they talk about in the game, when it/she first came to their planet.

I think it must of taken them more than 10 minutes...

About the whole "there's not enough storyline" bull ****:

First - It's all about FF7 the game, of course you'd have to of played the game to understand the story.
