This is a pc question so yeh

Currently i got a p4 2.2
512 pc2700
GfFX 5200

I was thinking of getting a new computer............

something like this http://www.emachines.com/products/products.html?prod=eMachines_T6520

Since it comes with a gig of ram, lotsa hd space, and has pci-e slot, and is cheap

or i was thinking of getting a top of the line vid card for my current set up, plus a gig of ram, wich of theses two options would you choose, as currently i play Battlefield 2, and its pretty crappy on my current set up :-/

Yeah, looks good. I'm not going to get a new computer at least until Windows Vista comes out, which is likely to be a system hog. So I'd recommend just upgrading various parts of your computer, but thats just me.

not bad for the price, but I agree with Yppolitia...I'm more into making my computers. You can usually make a nicer one for the costs.

seems like prices have gone up?! that's weird

I'm using

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=80181-R

and

http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=241794

motherboard price seems about right but the cpu went up a ton. I got the motherboard because it's best compatible with my ram

So your saying i should upgrade my current pc? but i dunno the processor is only 2.2 , i was thinking id need at least a 3.0 or 3000+ For some of the newer games

it's not so much dependent on the Gigahertz as it is FSB. A processor will help a lot with game, but so does ram and a good video card.

I can run Doom 3 on Ultimate Quality at 45+ fps and Half-Life 2 and max res with high quality graphics at 50 fps.

A lot also depends on if you take care of your computer. You could either upgrade or just buy a whole new system piece by piece. That's what I did, but the system you have decided on is a good system, especially with a 64 bit processor. I'm only using a 32 bit processor, 64 bits will be able to double my power.

Always customize one, even if you use a place like www.ibuypower.com , never buy from like Dell/HP/eMachine/etc.

AMD 64 3500+

1024 MB Corsair XMS ram

Nvidia Gforce 6800GT

some whatev 120gb HDD

The 7800GTX kills the 6800GT.
