Ever since Robert Rodriguez’s SIN CITY and its guest-directing by Quentin Tarantino, fans could only hope for more from this duo. It would seem though, that they had that in mind as well. Rodriguez and Tarantino will be teaming up again for what already sounds like one hell of cool movie, well actually its two movies. The duos next project, GRIND HOUSE, is going to be an interesting experience for movie goers. This time around they’ll both being doing there own horror film in true “grind house” fashion. Viewers will see one film, followed by a slew of trailers the duo created specifically for this experience, which will then be followed by the other film, sure to give the audience that sense of sitting through a true grind house movie experience.
The two will each focus their talents on a specific genre, and Tarantino recently shed some light on what that might be; “His movie is called 'Planet Terror,' and mine is called 'Death Proof,'" says Tarantino. "Mine is sort of a slasher film, but instead of a knife, it's a car. ... His, he's dealing with zombies and all that stuff. I think his might end up being more violent, but I'm not finished with my [script] yet, so you never know.” This is already some type of strange dream come true, and will surely be a new thing for modern cinema. In the same recent interview, Tarantino even shared some concepts for the fill trailers, “"I'm working out my blaxploitation trailer, and possibly a kung-fu trailer, a sexploitation trailer, a spaghetti-western trailer. I just need to kind of work them out a little bit. I'm just getting them down there, but I think for sure I'm going to do the sexploitation trailer, which is called 'Cowgirls in Sweden.”
This one really seems to be shaping up to quite the movie experience, and will surely be something new to most of us out there.
Anyone else interested to see what these 2 pull out? I have to say, the concept of a slasher flick with a car sounds very strange, and reminds me of Christine. But still, it's early works.
