Yeah, but you can still find a working rip around 1.5-2 gigs I'm sure. I have a 10gb download and 1 gb upload limit per month, I have to download wisely.

10 down is an ungodly amount.

I have 5 down, 1 up and have downloaded several full sized games within a week.

I wouldn't have said it unless I thought it was worth the $50. Or if you're that cheap (like I can be) just get it pre-owned. I'm fine with dling games that are off the market now (like NES, SNES, etc.), but for "new" games you're ripping the company like crazy.

Somehow, I don't think Rockstar is going to notice.

I tried getting it off Limewire, didn't work though so I'm going to try again this week. I was able to get Vice City though, the ambient noises don't work and everything sounds like theres a shi load of reverb on it, so I'm going to attempt to fix this soon.

You guys have download caps.? Where do you live?

Let's Chop Cats!

All ISP have download caps. Unless you're paying like a billion dollars a month for unlimited.

I don't think my ISP has a limit :)

I use SBCYahoo DSL.

I have Comcast and I'm pretty sure I don't have a limit. Ignorance is bliss. :)

So I'm downloading Sims 2 from isohunt.com. Since I probably won't be able to figure it out on my own, and so I don't have to bump this thread in a couple days, how do I play it if its just an ISO file?

Burn it to a cd. You need a cd burning program with the ability to burn an image file, not too hard to find.

My ISP has no download or upload cap. I've downloaded and uploaded 50gb or more in a week and they don't care.

I'm sure they do, unless you're paying a hefty fee for it. And I can't say I find 50 gigs downloaded in a week all that believe able.

My ISP is known to be really lenient... they are almost bankrupt and can't afford to lose any customers. People have been uncapping their modems for years without getting caught. If you call to cancel, they will just give you more stuff like HBO and On-Demand channels for free, to get you to stay. BTW, I meant 50gb combined, down and up, and I have 3mbps down, so it's very possible.

I'm sure mine doesn't have a download/upload limit, but I have a crappy speed, so that might be why. We could double the speed for free with NTL since they bought some company or something, but then you get a download/upload limit. I'm not sure what it was

Verizon Communications and SBC Communications, the largest DSL providers in the United States, both said their services remain unlimited.

I hate to bump this thread, but I didn't see the point of making a new one for a question I already asked in here.

I downloaded Sims 2, and it seems to be divided into 4 discs. But even when I try to put each group of 4 files onto a cd, they're too big by about 80MB. Even if I only include the IMG file, that file alone is 750MB, which is too big for blank cds. So my question is, am I doing something? Or am I supposed to be using DVDs? Ooooor... what?

Then you've never lived in a student house. We've done 25 in two days in ours.

you need to burn them as CD images.

ThePatient
09-21-2005, 09:46 PM
I know that. I've tried Cheetah CD burner, and some other one that made my computer die, both from download.com, and neither worked for me because the files are too big to fit on a cd. I also wanted to try something called Sateira but the 7-day trial ran out. :-/

Use Daemon Tools and mount the image. No CD burning needed.
