ok i bought a microphone with a 1/4th(i already have the adapter) of an inch plug at the end instead of xlr.i want to hook it up to my computer and record on audacity,the problem is that the mic isnt plug and play,i need drivers or software any pointers?i didnt come with anything but the mic

drivers are usually found online if theydon't come with the hardware.

let me re-phrase that, a mic doesnt need drivers, you plug it into your soundcard and record, its an audio signal, not a digital one.

Exactly. If your soundcard works, then the mic offers a simple audio signal to it and there is no way it could use drivers. What you mean is you need drivers for your soundcard - find out the make and look for ,it online.
