Plug your guitar into a DI box, plug that into your soundcard line in.

you can buy a di box from ur local music shop behringer make them for like 50 bucks or cheaper and then put the lie out of that into your computer line in which is i believe either the pink or blue inpput nexto the green headphones or for a cheaper option just go

guitar------distorcian pedals--------computer
(or watever pedal)

thats works
or

guitar----amp then lineout-----computer

these are all cheep simple methods ..

also you will need a few extra lead with those things to make a big jack and small one

No he asked directly into computer. Use a DI box. The behringer DI20, runs for 30 bucks and does the job perfectly, and also has two channels for when you wanna expand your setup.

I have seriously seen about 150 of these threads on this forum. We need to sticky some instructions for people who want to talk about basic recording techniques.

This is a forum to help people. Noone wants to come to this forum unless they can have their problem solved quickly without people complaining it is too much of a beginner topic to have it's own thread. Who cares?
