i just started preloading it. is anyone else here ecxited for this game? day of defeat is awesome, and now with the source engine this game will definetly be a hit.

uh, im not sure exactly but it has the hl2 engine, the dl might be longer if you dont. but i think you have to have the hl2 silver or gold pack to get it, u know the ones that come with all the games.

I have Silver and preloaded it the other day. If I had any shred of money I'd host a temp server for like a month maybe. We could have people chip in via paypal and get one.

Haha, nah I'd seriously try and set it all up. But I personally haven't setup a server but my friends have and I know most of the stuff they do for you anyway.

If I had $20 bucks lying around I'd rent a 10 man server for anyone on MX for a month, but I have about 2 to my name.

This game is amazing. Played for about an hour. It is available all over the globe already (assuming you already owned it).

I just filter for the best ping and play there. I still think it would be cool if we all chipped in for a server for a month.

Oh man love this game. I love how with the KAR98 when you hit someone in the upper boddy they go flying. What do you guys think of not having a pistol on some guns?? i don't like it.

DoD:S is so beautifully rendered. HDR lighting is a wonderful touch.

I average around 50 fps at 1280 res.

I sucks, because at home I have Tier-3 DSL, but I'm at college now, so I have crappy cable. Everyone here downloads mAdpr0n so during the afternoon I can barely surf the net and my ping is 2000+ when I try to play.

There will be new maps eventually, just got to wait a bit. Lost Coast should be out soon aswell. Then Aftermath, my guess is sometime inbetween LC and AM which is around late Oct/Early Nov.

I remember playing DoD on LANs with 5 buddies, just going crazy. Favourite moment was everyone playing as Machinegunners, tearing it up in Avalanche. :)

Definitely going to nab this version.

I personally love playing 360. A game where you have to just do 360 jumps over certain gaps. It's a little better on CS:S as there's not so many huge gaps, but it's still fun.

Then when you get better, you can play 540 and 720.

Maybe even 900 :amaze:
