I saw it but never got what the big deal was. Everyone told me it's a must see if you're into war movies. So I bought it and haven't been so unhappy about a DVD purchase since Cat Woman. :upset:

Umm, username++

It's my second favorite movie, behind The Godfather, Part II, and it's my favorite war movie.

Everything about it, I love; the cinematography was well ahead of it's time, Martin Sheen was ace, and the atmosphere, oh the atmosphere. It has the best intro I've seen, and it has my favorite scene in any movie: Kilgore's helicopter attack on the village with Ride of the Valkyries blasting, just so he could surf a little. I get goosebumps everything I see it, I never get sick of it.

Coppola smashed the ball on this one, and even though Brando wasn't swell as Kurtz, I loved his character too. Duvall as Kilgore is so badass.

The end score is very creepy too. A perfect ending.

i dont think i could have said it any better, the part where duvall plays the music right before they attack is also ace. you get a real feel for war in this movie. just how he puts the front of wanting to surf alot just to blind himself of whats realy going on, when realy he just has adapted war to his daily life. its amazing in soo many ways.

Apocalypse Now is my favourite film, it's just brilliant. I love the atmosphere most of all.

I love the way Coppola puts an ironic and highly sarcastic tone towards a war he knew was pointless.

I think Apocolypse is ok... but did anyone see Coppola's The Conversation? I thought that was brilliant.

Amazing movie.

I love the extended version Part Deux or whatever it's called.

The intro with "The End" is such a good song for that scene.

I believe there is a user on here with the username "The End"

I just watched it, and I loved it.

Is it true that Dennis Hopper was on coke while shooting his parts? I know the guy who played "Lance" was actually on speed, LSD, and marijuana during the filming.

He was, actually. Dennis Hopper did just about every drug imaginable back in the day.

Yeah, probably.

Just about everybody on the set was on something.

Same here.

Better than the D-Day invasion in Saving Private Ryan.
