Hi all I have a common question. Do you think its best just to turn all your Bass, MID and Treble all the way up on your bass guitar and then sort out the EQ with your amp head or do you think its better to do it all with your bass guitar. Or maybe a mixture of both. COuldnt see an answer here.

i also have a question. i've been wondering about the previous question but i only have a combo amp. so i'm limited. but, to my question. how can you take a chord formation with your guitarist and make something really cool out of it. i'm sort of imtermediate so i think i could find something but my guitarists really want something right when they ask it, so i was wondering if i could have some tips.

For reference, this thread wasn't intended as a place to ask questions - you can just make threads in the Beginner's forum for that. I'll lock it, but since you have asked I'll do my best to answer first.

There isn't a right answer to that, really - do whatever sounds best. That's the only rule when it comes to effects and EQ and the like. On a side note, however... If you're wanting the EQ on your bass to not do anything, only turn all the way up if you have a Passive EQ system. If you have an Active EQ system, you should leave them in the middle.

If you're not sure which you have, look for a battery. Active systems need one, Passive systems don't.

That's probably best asked over in the Theory thread (http://musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=432696) in the main forum.
