Hey, i found a studio in my area, and it's unbelievably cheap, i figure it's probably not as good a find as i thought at that price, does anyone have any suggestions on 1)What might be wrong with it 2)Any Hidden costs.

Tenth Egg Studios (http://www.tenthegg.co.uk/music.html)

There's not neccessarily anything wrong with it.
Chances he's just trying to undercut other studios by offering cheap rates.
If you check out his showcase audio samples, it's all good stuff. It's probably just a decent studio with a good engineer doing cheap rates.

Don't be silly luke.

The second they walk into that studio, they're going to be locked in a cage and forced to write music for bryan adams for the rest of their days. its the only possible explanation.

Thanks for your replies. I am not 'into' Bryan Adams kinda thing, but i think i'll give the studio a try, if worst comes to worst we'll just leave, as i wouldn't want my music influence by a producer. Thanks.

maybe its not snare, and maybe just maybe that the 58 sounded better on that partcular snare if it is a snare. Dont get locked down by rules.

Rules are made to be broken. There is no reason why you SHOULD be using a sm57 on the snare.

SM58's usually sound pretty good on snares. Alot of studios use them :)

Because in England shure sm57's and 58's cost far more than they're worth so instead of buying them and recording, we have to come on the internet and moan.

It looks from the website like the studio is actually just in the guys house, which would explain the cheaper rates, because he doesn't have to rent the business space.
