stereo/mono question

Alright so the rest of myband's pa system showed up today, and I have a question. I got the Behringer EP2500 power amp and the Behringer mxb1002 mixer(I know you guys don't usually like Behringer, but we got peavey speakers :thumb: ).

Now with the amp, it has 4 inputs, 2 xlr and 2 1/4". It says that to have it in stereo use one of each channel obviously. And in mono I only need one. But the mixer has 2 outputs, a left and right. The manual says nothing about what to do to use it in mono. Would I just use either of these outputs or what? Thanks

Usually, mono is the left channel output.

You mean the poweramp has four inputs?

Only use one of each of these left and right inputs.
If the Mixer has got two 1/4" outputs then connect both of these up to the 1/4" inputs on the poweramp. Connecting left to left and right to right.
Then connect the left speaker output on the poweramp up to one of your speakers. And the right speaker output to your other speaker.

When it comes to running a poweramp in mono, you may be implying that you are 'bridging' the poweramp. Like if the poweramp has a switch on it where you can 'bridge it. Although most newer amps that can be bridged usually have a seperate bridged output. So don't worry about this for now.

But yeah, like Tsuruka mentioned above:
If you just run the one signal into the left input (with nothing plugged into the right) then this signal will be duplicated onto the right channel.
You'd still want to have both speakers attached to both outputs.

Although my advise would be to just run your setup in stereo.

Alright thanks, I know running the poweramp into one speaker is bridging and all of that, and I knew about the speaker outputs. I plan to run the poweramp in stereo asap, but we only have one cable right now, so that's not possible yet. But yeah I meant the mixer only has stereo outputs but we can only run it in mono for now. So thanks.

Join the club, I just got our bands new PA a few days ago (Crown CE 2000, 2x Carvin 1540 loudspeakers). They pretty much said it all. Make shure you plug in the left output in the mixer.
