Hey guys/gals!

Never shared before this way. Actually didn`t know sites like this existed. I`ve done the cheap copyrite on everything so no reason I can`t share right? This is cool, I used to get out quite often to hear original artists in small clubs and such just to get away from the commercial crud. Nice to hear some here, I`ve been pleasantly surprised.

Anyway, I used to play in bands and did quite well till my day job outweighed the music/drinking/drugs/girls/money.
I enjoy anything from Blues to Rock to Metal

Now I write and record in my home studio and collaborate occasionally with an old friend via the internet and my goodfriend cakewalk.

I`d like to share some songs and see what you think. These two are backed by a drum machine so if you hate the drums it cannot respond and I take no responsibility ;)

I always try to write from experience and all my songs mean something to me and are a piece of my past and a piece of me.

This ditty I wrote while lamenting about a failed relationship (go figure a mainstay of Rock right?)
She found a new man and the dual meaning is how could you have loved me how could you love him? ( I was a bad boy)

enjoy:
How Could You Love? (http://www.cozycritters.ca/JR MUSIC - How Could You Love.mp3 )

Another one I`d like to share is a song I wrote and asked a good friend of mine to add some rythm guitar, the first solo and some backing vocals too.
It`s main theme is about hard drug addiction, heroin, for instance and how could you/ why would you/ look at you now type of imagery. It also touches on an old beef of mine against the illegalization of marijuanna and Canada`s (my country) blind following of America`s war on pot. ( the eagle casts a large shadow and we seem to hide in it)

enjoy:
Goin South (http://www.cozycritters.ca/JR MUSIC - Goin South.mp3 )

Any comments would be enjoyed, these aren`t songs I played with any band just more ideas out on the fringe. I actually have quite a backlog of recorded songs and it was hard to pick just two, let me know if anyone wants to hear more.

-thanks

-hey is Goin south link working?

what equipment (guitar sound) do you use?

How could you love:

I used-

American Fender "Stratocaster Floyd Rose Special" plugged into My "Jeckyl & Hyde" overdrive pedal then direct in to my Yamaha MD8 minidisc recorder (8 track)

Japanese Fender Precision Bass "Light" used with a cheap DOD pedal designed for direct recording plugged into the MD8(Can`t recall the model, lol, it`s here somewhere)

Drum Machine is a Boss DR-550 MK2 plugged into the MD8 in stereo

Then I run a Yamaha Rev100 reverb unit into the effects loop of the MD8 while mixing, so I can add reverb here and there to each individual track, depending on what needs it. I mix into my PC and record it as a .wav file, level the volume and edit the length all with my waveditor called "Goldwave" no effects are applied in the pc. -Then I can burn to disc, etc.

Vocals for this was through my Apex 450 diaphragm condensor mic (I think)

Goin South was essentially the same equipment with the exception of my friend`s rythm guitar track and the first solo you hear. The signal was taken from the emulator out jack on his Marshall amp. He used a Gibson Les Paul, great guitar if you like strapping a boat anchor on your shoulder.

PS. Already got ya Starman!

Thanks , yes drum machines aren`t that great but sure beats nothing. Guess I`ll have to root out some real drummer tracks in a bit and post them..
