PC multi track recording programs???

Okay, my friend is releasing a mod game in a few weeks and he wants me to make a little intro song for the game. He wants several layers of guitars and bass and whatever, but I can't even find a program to do it. Anyone know of a program?

Im just looking for a demo or a cracked program that I can record with using the mic imput on the pc.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Both are freeware and quite good programs for multi track recording.

Cool Edit Pro is good too. Just ask around a bit and you can probably get someone to send it to you.
