Had no idea where else to post this, i just got my hands on a harmonica (i.e. nabbed it from a mate) it's just a pretty dull C major one as far as I can tell, and I figured it would be a good use of my time to try and learn it. Can anyone suggest somewhere on the net that I could use to learn the basics, or you can of course let me know in here if you're something of a whizz. And by the way, is it mouth organ or harmonica? I've always thought harmonica every since someone told me a related musical joke involving 'mouthing someone's organ'. It put me off for life.

I bought myself a harmonica a few months back and haven't played much since.

This site is pretty good, the beginner stuff is free, too. I would say just go buy one for a few bucks, because it usually comes with a sheet with helpful basic beginner info on the notes of the harmonica and how to play it. Plus, it ensures that your harmonica will not have been on someone else's mouth (i.e. the mate you nabbed it from) :thumb:
Hope it helps.

My grandad made an effects/amp thing out of an old pringles can. Taped it up, cut a slit out and kinda stuck or taped it to it. So he could kinda hand mute and muck with the sound a bit. Cool for an old guy. He was thinking about copyrighting it....
