This is my band torch of war, even though named after a vader song we dont sound much like them. Weve pretty much evolved into a melodic death band of some sort.

try us on purevolume, the clip is unmixed and has a few problems but its decent enough sound quality.

Based on the song on purevolume.com...
The long intro was quite interesting, but it took up like almost half of the song. Either the rest of needs to be longer (which would be my choice) or the intro needs to be shorter.
The lead guitar was cool at times, but some of it just sounded like slow scale improvising. I don't like to judge the quality of the recording :) but either way, the vocals in the intro were too quiet. Some parts sounded like they were off-key but I can't be sure. Didn't like how it transitioned into the distorted part, the first distorted guitar riff was too... cliche.
Sorry, it sounds like I dished out alot of complaints. Doesn't mean I didn't like it though. :) I liked what I could hear of the vocals, regardless of recording quality, I liked the clean guitar, and after the song got going the drums and the guitar sounded pretty sweet. The distorted lead guitar sounded kind of random. The keyboard was very subtle but I really liked that.
Hey I assume you haven't been together very long, but keep workin at it man... I'd like to hear some more material when you record some.

On second thought, I think your lead guitarists needs to work on his parts more than anybody else. Not tryin to be mean or anything. But after listening a second time, alot of it sounded so random... need to learn how to "layer" a solo on top of the rhythm.. instead of simply hitting notes in key.

weve been together for about a year, the other songs on myspace showcase something kind of different, and the lead guitar parts in that clip were the wrong ones, i had two different types to that solo, and the take that the guy who was recording took was wrong by accident, the other clip is a lot better. A reason for why the solo might sound random is because it basically was, that clips solo was improvised every time it was ever played live exept for about the first 10 seconds. Scince then ive been working on a set one.

Sweet. That's good to hear, man. Yeah I'd go listen to it on myspace, buuut.. it doesn't exactly work on dial up. I'll add you on myspace sometime though.
