Were you supposed to speed up in Route 311? If you weren't, I strongly suggest working with a metronome. Also, try and pick up a bassist. It'll hold both of you down better.

in route66:

-The chords you use in the "intro" don't work together.

-Like the guy above me said, you speed up a lot throughout the song. Not sure if that is intentional or not...

-The song is boring as hell.

-I think your drummer has potential, you on the other hand...need to work on some musical theory.

I like the song "honor him"

its ment to be that way,it is ment to go faster at the end there. And if i tell you this and that its all just improvisation, what do you think of it then?

thanks for your comments, they will be posted on our site i think:)

the song route 311 would be quite good with some vocals. cover some more advanced songs :thumb:

It wasn't bad, and if it was just a jam that makes it pretty decent. But if I were you, I would go online and look up some scales, because like altrocker said before me, the chords don't go together. But yeah, if you pick up some basic theory and memorize some of the notes, you will get 500% better. Your drummer is probably the strongest member of your band.

You don't need to learn musical theory to tell if chords go together, just a good ear. The same goes for writing riffs. I never learned scales, but I can still find myself playing around randomly and writing some pretty complicated stuff. Nobody should advise against theory though, but for some styles (especially punk) it's not essential.

No they don't. You should be able to tell from listening. Unless you're musically retarded you'll be able to eventually pick stuff like that up from ear while you gain more experience. I mean, you can tell if singing is out of tune can't you, and it'll come just like that does.

yeah the speeding up sounded dodgy, even though it was planned, im not sure the two of u sped up at quite the same time if you get wot i mean. drummings good, dont like the cymbals but then thats my opinion. the guitar, pretty boring and repetive, but if u get the right chords u could play it all day and it would sound good

i dunno dude, it was just kind of boring. It's pretty obvious that both of you have just started, and the route 311 song is just some power chords over and over again with no singing. Keep practicing you'll get much better.

thanks for your comment, you're right about that but when you just play it is not easy to make something that is good:) but new stuff is coming up:)

And what about 'Honor Him'?
