How many here are in a band?
If you are, what genre? bandname? webpage?

I'm in a band called Dåven. (It is in Norwegian, but we did'nt come up with anything else, so we're changing it later)
It's not really a Hardcore or Emo band, more a type of weird rock, but it's because we all listens to different genres and stuff.

So no. I'm not in a band.

anyways...

I'm not currently in a band, although I'm trying to start up a crossover thrash/old school hardcore band. Think the Accused had an auto-accident with Goilla Biscuits. I'll be doing vocals. Toss in some surf and skate rock influence, and ye got what I want.

Also, I might play bass in a hardcore band. They say they want somethign similar to Blood for Blood, but I'm still contemplating on whether or not to do it.

I play guitar in a popcore or pseudo-emo, whichever you prefer, band.
I also do back-up vocals.

Everyone in my town has the shittiest tastes in music, so I am not in a band. I tried to be in a band, but all they wanted to play was pop-punk (not good pop-punk, horrible pop-punk, like Blink 182, Green Day, etc.). I went along with it, but didn't like it very much at all. So until I find people that want to play the same music that I want to play, I won't be in a band.

I play guitar and my friend is a really good drummer. We have a bassist who would do well for the time being. I listen to all types of metal/hardcore and at this point what we play really depends on what kind of vocals we can find. If it were up to me I would like to play tech metal in the vein of Glass Casket and PsyOpus. Playing generic metalcore stuff with breakdowns everywhere is also fun but I want to stray from cliches. I want to do something original.

my friend plays drums and I play bass. We've been just playing whatever kind of stuff for about 2 years but mostly punk/pop-punk/hardcore/emo/covers kind of stuff. We just recently got a guitar player. A while ago we recorded some ramones songs on casette with our friend who cant sing but it was funny, at the end you can hear some old christian music, its kind of like the unitenional bonus track.

I'm in a band, I play guitar. We started off in January playing metalcore and then we've had many dilemma's and such. Our bassist left in the middle of the summer. Me and the other guitarist are in charge of the band and we recently decided to ditch all of our old songs because we weren't pleased with them. We have 2 songs down now. We're shooting for a Death Metal influenced Tech-Metal band with many different elements (jazz, metal, grind). The bad thing is that our vocalist listens to mostly Metalcore (the bled, old underoath, FATA) and our drummer listens to popcore/psudo emo. We might get a new drummer.

Most of the stuff on there is outdated. We have a (temporary) drummer, a bassist, a guitarist, a (temporary) singer. The only thing we have to do now is set a date to get together and practice some. I've been writing a lot of stuff. It's mostly hardcore/emo-ish, but I do throw in some bluesy/jazzy stuff once in a while. I think we could be okay, but most likely we'll end up sucking.

anyways i play bass and a little bit of guitar here and there, however, im pushing to get a new bassist and play guitar from now on but it doesnt look like its gonna work(im the best bassist any of us know...)
the current recordings kinda suck and its kidnda boring but im slowly but surely making the music better by way of creative bass lines and some small guitar fills and solos...

anyways, we should be headed in a better direction soon

im in a band, having a few problems with members leaving/being thrown out, over all i think weve had about 17 songs, but we lost alot of them when our first main guitarist left, and then we had to replace the drummer, thats cut us down to 2 really, because weve forgotten alot of the old stuff while teching the drummer the 2 songs, weve just spent a month doing up our band room, and new were already and set to go, we had our first practice yesterday in 5 weeks, and apart from the rustiness, bad timing and one guitarist not being there (i had to do some guitar fills on my bass to fill the gaps :P) it sounded alot better then we used to (before doing the band room up the roof in it was like 20 feet up, so we lost alot of sound) next practice is tomorrow with all our members, and i hope were gonna get our **** together and start writing soon,

our style is rocky, the way we seem to work is our main guitarist tries to write metal then the rest of us try to make it sound as far away from metal as possible, it kinda works, but we need to sort some **** out first,

we are called Enola's Little Boy (if anyone knows the reason that name is actually alot cooler than it sounds ill give them a virtual cookie :naughty: ) i play bass/do backing vocals, we have a singer, a drummer and 2 guitarist, and i seriously suggest to anyone not in a band, just get one together, iv wasted the last 3 years playing in bands and its the best way to waste time in the world as far as im concerned, i have no aspirations to get famous or even release "proper" CDs, just to play shows and have a laugh, and i hope to do this for the rest of my life

i guess, if you dont like it, thats fine. your opinion doesn't matter because we are getting real big, touring, sponsered, and getting signed in a month so take that, i would like to hear your stuff

The intro of the first song made the rest of it a let down. It was really cool, but then the vox started. Not to be too harsh, but those are some of the weakest screams I've heard.

Hey guys,

Here we have a sample I threw together from our demo song we are recording in the studio. Everything is UNMIXED and UNMASTERED, but we are hoping to get the final cut thrown down by next week. This will give you an idea of the music we are writing. WWW.MYSPACE.COM/MOVETOMOTION

Your comments are always welcome.
Thanks for checking it out.

Take care,

I'm in a band. We're not and type of core though. We're Prog/Metal. We've got a big show coming up in 3 weeks. I used to be in a Post-Hardcore band called Aenimosity, and a Hardcore/Screamo band called Hence Forth Murder. The first one broke up and the second one I had to quit because of my grades, etc. I'll post some mp3's after our studio time next month. The name is Subversive btw.

I've only been able to fiddle with the idea of a band until i met a few guitarists at my local school jazz band, and we're getting together reguarly. We do a variety of stuff. Rock, Jazz, Latin, whatever we feel like doing while we hang out. We're currently working on a Sublime-like piece that we've been making. We're currently looking for a bassist. I don't know our name yet, but i was thinking a few names...

How does "The Imflamed, Infected Nipples" sound? I actually kind of like it. It has it's own unique ring to it.

AndreTheHyena
10-10-2005, 01:02 AM
have you sent a demo to them?

No, I'm too modest.

Besides, I'm taking a break from recording and just focusing on writing/performing. I don't wanna start making albums until I know what the hell I'm doing, and until I'm %100 comfortable with it.

The current problem is, 70% of my songs are like "Missouri Nights", except better, in that they're very classic-sounding, Guthrie/Cash Dust Bowl folk songs, and the other 30% are angry, anarcho-cowboy folk-punk stuff, and I don't know if I should try to find a balance or just give up the political schtick and focus on the straight-up stuff.

I'm in a band.

Rusinko (named after a former teacher who was fired from our school for having an affair with a 16 year old student. First teaching job, had a fiancee, whole world ahead of him, and she wasn't that good looking either.)

3 piece band, I do bass and we have a drummer and vocalist/guitarist.

We blend old school hardcore ala Minor THreat and Bad Brains with Ska and Reggae.

Its pretty righteous.

I want to do something original.

then don't play breakdowns, tech parts, or anything, for that matter.

just have a drummer play endless gravity blasts.

I play bass and my friend plays guitar. We live in a small town. We are the only people that don't listen to rap or pop.

So no. I'm not in a band.

You could pick up a drum machine, and become Ween Jr. :)

Lateley with my band, we're coming up with a thrashcore version of the oompa loompa song.

You mean bad metalcore that rapes the bad aspects of swedish death metal. Atreyu is not hardcore in any sense and are terrible since they released the curse, hell even with snabk they were only mediocre. Throwdown I like but when you listen to them you can't take them seriously, personally I laugh when I listen to them. Both of those bands just suck but I hope your band is nothing like them.

Oh and if you want to check out hardcore bands check out these:

Minor Threat
Agnostic Front
Carry On
