Have you looked at C.P.E. Bach? His son. He wrote alot of good music, though practically incomparable to his fathers. His most notable work is his "Solefeggetto".
Handel and Vivaldi are both good baroque composers. Check out Handel's Harpsichord Suites, Gigue's, Sonatas and Sonatinas. Vivaldi wrote mostly for violin and strings, but alot of his music has a keyboard accompaniment. Look at the Sonatas for Violin and Piano, and Flute and Piano.
Some good Modern classical music would be Stravinsky and Prokofiev. Check out the Prokofiev Piano concertos, etudes, sonatas and his "Suggestion Diabolique - Op. 4" (this is for the more advanced player).
If you are more advanced player, then look at some Rachmaninov, especially the Preludes and Piano concertos (I couldn't recommend a favourite concerto as they're all fantastic, but 2 is the one everyone knows....)
If you're looking for something different the look at Scriabin's "Prelude and Nocturne Op. 9", it's two pieces written entirely for the solo left hand, but they sound and look like they're for both.
It just depends on what you're looking for. Short pieces or grand concertos.
Hope that helps! :thumb:

If you're not restricted to music designed for the piano, Carl Orff is a fantastic composer to go to for modern classical. He wrote the famous Carmina Burana (O, Fortuna, etc), and his music freaking rules. Another amazing modern composer is Gustav Mahler...his Symphony No. 9 is incredible.
Heh...that reminds me of my radio show that I did last semester. For every single show, I opened up with "O, Fortuna."

hmmm...
for baroque try scarlatti and handel, though personally i prefer bach ( J.S., none of that C.P.E. crap :p )
by modern classical, how modern do you mean. i mean, for 19th century we're mostly talking 'romantic' composers, check out tchaicovsky (he is a bit older though), rachmaninov, scriabin, that type of thing. here's a general rule for this: russian = mostly very good. you could look at fauré, and maybe impressionists like ravell.
ohh and i thinki moussorgsky though he's more 'romantic' or whatever you want to call it.
....how advanced are you, because the ones i'm playing tht you could try are : fauré - no.8 of 9 preludes ( think its no.8, its a bitch to play, **** 152 bpm.)
tchaicovsky - romance in f minor (that is a beeautiful piece but it might not be quite what ur looking for)
scarlatti - sonata in E

try alberto e. ginastera. that's contempory like 1900's. it's classical music with latin influence. and it's fast and exciting, but not like jazz.
