I don't think I've shown pics or even posted for about 3 months now...

I have a catalina birch and in the last 2 months, Ive bought new hats and ride..

The ride is like so awesome, I got it like 2 days ago... recommend to all

The hi hats however I find a little bit too trashy. They are suttle and mainly sweet when closed and when open full with fury. I like them, If I had money they would be my sec. hats!

Just here to share my new purchases (some not shown in pictures)

how's the 18" Dark Crash? I like the setup, but no 12" tom? Do you have one and just not use it? or did it not even come with one, which would seem a little odd to go 8, 10, 14.

yeh definately am proud ken... thanks everyone for kind remarks!

18" dark crash is crazy! Its probably the best crash for what i play "metal etc"

12" tom... well I do have one its still in the box... I cannot get a good sound out of it... I kind of like the 8 10 14 16 kind of thing.. it sounds good my 8 tom is fairly low...

My stuff in order I want to buy:

14" aax dark crash
17" aax extreme china

Thats the first two... then Ill think bout it I spose...

Bye bye.. lol

Bombshell, you are a rich as$ bastard.

DBJ and Ken, you guys are confusing the hell outta me! Did Portnoy go to Ken's house, or is Ken just trying to use a pic of Jimmy as MP and fool everyone?

I'm thinking of getting a 17" AAX Dark, I have the 14" and it's good for accents, sort of an "uber splash" though I do use it quite a bit, almost as much as my Main crash(18" Vault :naughty: ) They're just great all-around crashes. I also play metal btw.

Yeh, I've heard good things about the 14" aax dark crash... Havent heard in person yet.. but its my plan

I wanted to get a 20 Vault but I didnt see the purpose in having 5 crashes (Im kinda planning on getting a hhx power crash (16"") and putting it next to my explosion...

17" aax dark crash would be good, I find the 18" is fairly heavy

Nice finish, do you think you could possibly get higher quality pics for the future to really give that finish some justice?

What kinda of a kit is a Catalina anyway? (Intermediate? Semi-pro?)

Nice kit man :thumb:

Do you like your Gretch kit?
A friend of mine is about to buy a drumkit and it fits it's budget.
Do you think it is better then mapex m pro/sonor 3005?

_bombsh3ll_
12-25-2005, 01:23 PM
well i had a choice of a sonor 3005, mapex pro m or the gretsch...

I ended up going with the gretsch due to colour preference and the fact I liked birch.. what also persuaded me was the free 8" tom offer...

mapex wasnt offering that in australia at the time of purchase.

It came with g1's and eq4 also and flanged hoops... it pulled me over pretty quick...

good kit (not sure I like the sound of the g1's on there though, it needs thicker heads IMHO) :chug: :chug:
