My friend spent only $100 US on these. It's the original series from Japan. The only english is the subtitles. So much better than the North American version since the original Japanese one was for adults.

Discuss how envious you are or just discuss Dragonball.

There are 40 DVD's total. Each one contains about eight 20 minute episodes.

Every single episode. It was $100 US.

Was the japanese version more violent? what was different from the u.s version and the japanese version?

Japanese DBZ >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> American. I've downloaded alot of the episodes over the years(subbed, of course), and the improvement is drastic. I've currently got the entire GT series on my harddrive, watching it out of curiousity.

OMG that's cool

Was the japanese version more violent? what was different from the u.s version and the japanese version?It's way more violent. Also some of the characters names are different. For a few episodes Cell is called Super. Also Goku's spirit bomb is called Super Energy Blast.

Yea I heard it's much more violent most of the time in the English version the people just blow up...in the Japanese version we get some blood and guts!!! :( I've recently become a big dragon ball z nerd again after playing Budokai 3 for PS2!

I've only played the original Budokai. It's awesome. Hard to get the combo's for the big moves at first but it eventually comes to you.

Holy hell. Back in the day I LOVED DBZ. I had a DBZ t-shirt, clips to put on things with DBZ characters on them...I just loved it. I think if I could get a hold of the entire series in Japanese like your friend did I could die happy. I would love to get back into it. The original Dragonball never appealed to me, nor did DBGT. But DBZ I worshipped for a while (I was young).

niice, Japanese Anime is always so much better than North America's. I just got done watching the Samurai Champloo episodes in Japanese, then watched it for the first time in English. The voices were dull and bland and I can't stand it.


I'm dreading when Naruto hits the states, they're going to ruin that to all hell.
