I need some suggestion from the fellow keyboardist in the forum. I have been looking to buy a keyboard for last few weeks. I am still learning, however i am very much into experimenting with whatever i get.

So What kind of features you think I must have?

If someone ask me the above question, all i say that I must have atleast 6-8 tracks recording, 100+ tones and drums in there, special effects and more.....

But this "More" is what I dont know, I want a key with unlimited opportunity to experiment. In another words - I want a keyboard with which i can make hundreds of different genres of midis.

So, musicians, please give me some suggestion that, what kind of features I must concerntrait on to buy a keyboard? and also suggest any preferable brand name (If that matters).....Thanks.

Our answers will vary drastically depending on how much money you have to spend.

On the other hand, some others of us, me, for example, will so strongly dispute this remark of yours above, especially the "100+" tunes, that they will find it impossible to answer at all.

Speedy finger, I m not looking for a big, professional one, but somehow professional - as basically i want to create midis. I am keeping my budget to $1500. I have seen some pro.. keys within 1500 too. I wanna buy those. But just confused with all the features.

I found music123.com talking about so many features, but i barely understand many of them. Can you give an idea of what features will be useful?

Ned, I didnt realize that I probably confused many with the term "Tune". Actually, it should be "Tones" or "Voice" (as it appears on keys), so that I can make something out of all different types of sound. And I am sure - you know that there are keys comes with more thaan 100 tones with them.

Now, please tell me about the features which will be able to create something exceptional.

Thanks 2 both of you.

I suggest any of the following, as they are all great workstations.

Korg Triton Extreme (61/76/88).
Roland Fantom (X6/X7/X8).

These will both do you proud.

88 Keys. Somehow, I just feel jipped if I get any less. I want to be able to pretend it's a piano, ****it!

Haha, hey, Sometime i feel the same - Gotta have 88 keys, but not to use it as a piano but to have more higher notes and variations.

Yeah, if it has anything less than 88 keys I can't play many of the songs I know now. However, most of the keyboards available only have 61 keys

Alright I got a question - what are the real differences between the Roland Fantoms and XP`s????
