Slayer is my favorite trash band, I don't know much trash though.
Testament, Exodus, Holy Terror, and Voivod. Go download now.

You can't say early Metallica isn't quality thrash.
I could never get into Megadeth.

Reiner, I can barely tolerate any Metallica songs, but they're better musicians than Minor Threat. That's not putting down MT in any way, even they would say they aren't as good of musicians as metallica.

Brian Baker is just as good as metallica (I've watch videos of him playing, trust me), just because his bands don't show it doesn't mean it.
You need to learn that just because some bands have crazy solos and such doesn't make them superior song writers.

It doesn't, and I don't think anyone here thinks that, but Metallica are good songwriters.
I'd still take Minor Threat though, them being one of my favorite bands.

Theyre both probably the biggest influences on their genres.

Minor Threats easily, especially since they influenced bands from Metallica's genre.

I think Minor Threat is more influential. But in metal the most influential band is Black Sabbath. Every single band name drops Sabbath, Metallica is after them though.

You've used the "play faster" argument like 20 times, and I haven't said anything about the speed at which either band plays. Minor Threat probably plays faster anyways.

I ment speed as all their solos and stuff. You seem to just defending them because their music is more technical than MT's.

true. even if some people take that influence a bit weird/wrong (i.e. slayers version of guilty of being white)

Well all you're saying is that Metallica can't write songs, when I'm sure the majority of people, if asked, would say the same thing about Minor Threat.
I don't even like Metallica, but it seems like you're just set on them being bad at everything just because you really like Minor Threat, and dislike Metallica.
Let's just face it Reiner, we are never going to agree on anything, that's why we love each other so.

I never said they were bad, just not as good at MT at doing it.
