View Full Version : Recording
What ways do you use to record songs for your bands. Obviously in a recording studio, but in any other ways?

well, I have a recording studio, so that's what i use, but if you've got a bit of money to spend, you can go get a inexspensive sound card (usb or firewire), and rent some mics from your local music store, or buy them i suppose, they can get pretty exspensive. you might be able to pick up an old 4 track recorder from a pawn shop, or vintage gear store. depending on where you live, you might be able to rent all the gear you need.

I'm 15, so my band can't afford much. we have a korg multi tracker, and we only tend to record the two guitars and bass, as us three live in the same village. we record what we do and send it to the singer and drummer to get their parts and become familiar with the song. But if you want to get a demo or something then it'll be more complicated than that

If you are serious about recording and are going to be doing it all the time, its a wise option to invest in a home studio, as I have chosen to do. Until your band is signed, it will do.
