I have a couple maudio cards myself. what do you mean when you say it sounds like sh*t? Noisy? Too Quiet? What kind of computer do you have?

well when i record everything it sounds o.k sometimes i get a little clicking noise through my head phones. but then when i play it back it sounds horrible. i tried it on all kinds of speakers one of the guys in my band brought some crazy nice speakers not sure what kind but i know there top of the line and it still sounded bad.
my pc is an old hp that i restored back to life but it has all new top of the line programs. new harddrive new everything on it.

I think I know what you're talking about. I have an Maudio Quattro, which is also usb connected and it used to do that to me randomly. As far as I could tell it was caused when I was trying to run too many things at once. I was running on my laptop aswell tho, which is another whole mess of problems. My best suggestion is to turn off everything running in the background. if that doesn't work, try going to www.musicxp.com and follow the guide to tuning your computer for audio, it's mainly just shutting off some of the windows processes that take up all your RAM. If that doesn't work, you might want to return your usb soundcard, and get somethin either firewire (if you have the connections) or multi-pin (like a printer cable). I have a Maudio Delta 1010 multi-pin. It cost me $800 cdn, but it's the best soundcard i've ever had. It never gives me problems.

o.k ill try that. but i was wondering is this realy a good sound card?should i buy a better one because mine only has one input. like i seen some tht have like 10 i was thinking about gettin one with maybe 4. or should i just stick with that one and run it through my pa sytem(it has like 6 outputs)and just record off the pa?

the one you have should be just fine for recording yourself, or your band or whatever. I have a 10 input 10 output card because i run a business with mine. the problem with recording through the PA is that after you record the tracks down, you won't have control over them individually anymore. as long as you like it before you record it, you will be ok.

o.k also does the quality of the sound change with every sound card? and also should i take it back and buy one with more inpus because it is really hard and long to record one after another and takes forever, should i buy one with a little more or is this fine?

ok. well, when it comes to soundcards price is a pretty good indicator of quality, since higher quality parts are more expensive. one with more inputs would probably suit you better. anywhere from 2-6 would probably do it. if you have (or can get) firewire connections, then i would suggest maudio's firewire 410, it's got a built in mic preamp aswell, which is really convenient. maudio is a great name, they make quality gear, for a good price. another good one is Mark of the Unicorn, which tends to be quite expensive tho. don't get sucked in by behringer either. It's cheaply made crap.
