Debussy is a modern composer? He was was born in the 1860's!

I recognize his name...

All I know is that I LOVE playing 20th century music.

I find every song in my piano books with composers born after 1900 and play em all... they're all so weird and cool.

:D

And I'm pretty sure I've played Debussy at some point... his name sounds familiar.

Could you give me a few modern classical composers? Other than Rachmaninov...
The only place I ran into some of the modern composers were in my conservatory books...with few exceptions, they pick the driest, most emotionless stuff to go in those books.

I'll take a look at my Celebration series books. I only have grades 5 and 6 in those... but they got a few good modern pieces. I'll rattle off some composers and songs in a bit... busy right now, but I'll tell you some soon.
