This movie is one of my favorite movies of all time. One of the great things about this movie is the footage. A lot of movies today dealing with aviation and fighter jets is usually computer generated. You'll probably never really see that many movies with real aviation footage like Top Gun's anymore since computer generated graphics seem to be the new thing.

My dad used to work as an engineer at Northrop Grumman, which was a major aviation company that developed the F-14 Tomcat(the fighters used in Top Gun), so its pretty cool to see those jets flying around all over in the movie. Plus I grew up with that kind of stuff, so that movie holds a special place in my heart. People will disagree though, making claims "oh it has a homoerotic script" give me a break and take your minds out of the gutter.

Movies like this dont come out that much anymore. Stealth wont hold anything to this movie. :thumb:

I don't think anyone's expecting it to; Top Gun is one of a kind I think.

I got Top Gun on dvd off ebay for $3. I like to think it was money well spent.

OK, it's a good film, but are you really denying the homoerotic imagery? That film is known for it. Watch the vollyball bit and tell me it's not gay.

Or course the actual aviation sequences are great.

I can't see how anyone else can't see the homoerotic imagery.

Pretty good action film, though.

Top Gun was such an awesome movie, but yeah, it was a little gay. I mean just look at the Volley Ball scene :lol:
