If you're just starting, this album has some easy songs.

It's unlike guitar, starter songs aren't ones you know of and like, go out and buy a beginners piano book and muck around...

Get a teacher if you're serious.

Trust me, they help you so incredibly much.

imnot sure what sogns to exactly recommend, what helped me was learning the chords and notes first then playing the chord and notes to the voice of the song if u get what i mean. then you just keep progressing to soemthing harder untoil your confis=dent to play rela music. hope that helps :D. later

Definately get a teacher if you're serious, like crazyguy says.
But scales yeah, best way to start, even if it's the most boring.

I hate scales so incredibly much, but they will help your playing A LOT. If you're having trouble with your song, just play the scale in several different ways that the key of the song is in.

i.e. normal, arpeggios, solid/broken triads, etc. etc.

Do that for 5-20 minutes and there will be a marked improvement in the ease of just about any song, at least when it comes to tricky sharps and flats.

I started with Genesis... not an easy start, but you'll progress quickly.

Play Overture 1928 by Dream Theater then you'll really be talking. ;)

haha... Try "Jane Seymore" By Rick Wakeman instead. A little more of a challenge.

Am I the only one who finds playing scales actually somewhat entertaining? Just about anything involving a metronome becomes incredibly addictive to me...probably a habit I picked up from drumming.

I love playing chromatic scales. or doing C major right hand descending all the way down the piano. So fun.
