The part where they show the video of her ice skating as a dinosaur, I can play the song in the background.

It is good for that kind of movie, but it's overrated.

Great movie, but it was too safe. I think there was an underlying edge to it that never really developed.

For me the movie kicks arse because it's so totally chilled with a love story(not a great love story but a love story nonetheless) and i totally love the humor in it. The part when the main character tries to swim cracks me up everytime i see it.

It was above average for me. But, I absolutely loved the adopted brother complaining about someone pissing on his nintendo.

I enjoyed this movie it had a lot of quirky humour and loveable loser characters who have little ambition. I agree that it was a bit safe and i really expected more to happen at the end but overall it was alright.
If you enjoy a strange love story see 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind' it totally blows garden state away.

I thought it was a great film. Enjoyed the soundtrack a lot as well. Lets hope Zach Braff is in charge of more films in the future!

A complete and utter embaressment to the state of NJ.

The only thing it had to do with NJ was that they stated that was the setting and I think they showed a sign for the parkway and Newark Airport.

Its simple association was embarressing.

Agreed. I absolutely loved it. It was a love story, but not the typical love story. It was a bit more real, if you overlook the "You changed my life in 4 days" idea. I loved how neither of them were the type of people who people even THINK about falling in love with, or even those people falling in love in general. I mean, really. Who's ideal mate is a pathological liar?
Eternal Sunshine is spectacular, but it's on a different plane. It tried to make you think quite a bit, while Garden State was much more simple.

One of the best movies i've ever seen! That and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless mind. Favorite line in there:
"Hey, Don't make fun of my hobbies, I dont make fun of you cause you're an a$$hole."

It was decent. As far as recent offbeat love stories go though, i'd say Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was better.

I enjoyed it, but I get made fun of by my more masculine friends for watching it more than once.

I've only seen it once but for some reason it really hit me hard and made me think about my life. Weird as that may sound...
