Erm...

The best way to learn music is by learning to read sheet music. While you could theoretically learn the song just by listening to it, it's much harder than just learning to read the sheet music. Plus, sheet music makes the song easier to understand, as you can visualize the relationships between notes. Finally, sheet music gives you a way to communicate with your fellow musicians (instead of saying "I play these notes for a bit, and then start playiing another note while they're still going", you can say "I play a half-note C chord with the left hand and start an arpeggio on the right hand after a quarter rest", which is much more specific).

Finally, which canon in D are you talking about? At a guess, you mean Pachelbel's, but the name you gave is hardly specific.

Yes. A Canon is a musical term for the style it is written in, I believe.

Don't worry, I made the same mistake once too.

Yeah, and people say "Canon in D" like its a name, not even realizing what it means. Its a Canon in the key of D Major.

Its like "Fourth of July" people say it as a name even though its only a date said in a way people normally don't say dates "Oh what day is is?" "Its the 26th of February."

I would probably respond to someone with "It's the 26th of February."
I see nothing wrong with it... hahaha hmmm.
Personally saying "It's February the 26th" just doesnt hit the spot like "It's the 26th of February" does.

Yup!!! But you must have a knowledge how the music is created..... I'm using Staff or the music sheet...But i'm using too my ear...by that i can determined how the pianist...or musician plays it... Like the music of Canon In D....it is the key of D...so the only sharps is C# and F#....But by applying some theories u can change the style of that music....I tell you a good musian is creative...I'm not saying that i am against in Mimicing...Mimicing is good...But all musician have a diff. styles...So you must discover it....And I just want 2 say that Try to learn reading notes....and study about music...The theories, the scales, and the form of music....

You are trying harder to make it so you don't know how to read sheet music then it would take learning how to read sheet music. it's not that hard to learn how, it just takes awhile to be fluent (i.e. sight read) with it.
