For anyone who has seen tons of films, and loves films, this is a ****ing challenging question to be asked. So if you can't think of one favorite scene, go with three favorites, or five, or if you want to stretch it to an extreme, ten favorite scenes.

I'll keep mine simple and just have one; the village raid/helicopter raid scene in Apocalypse Now. I mean, gosh. This is probably the only scene in any film I've watched where I get goosebumps every single time I watch it. Explosions going off, guns being shot, Ride of the Valkyries being blasted in the background, absolutely beautiful ****ing cinematography, and just the overall feel makes this my favorite.

Mine would have to be the scene in Pulp Fiction where Butch and Marcellus are being trapped in a store and Marcellus is being raped by a cop. Never get tired of that one, and the jazz music in the background.

I am not a huge movie person, but I thought this was really ****in funny, and one of my favorite movies. In Goodfellas when they are at Joe Peschi's moms house and she brings out the picture of the 2 dogs and the fisherman. He goes,"Yea mom I like that one.. That ones lookin one way, the others lookin the other, and that one in the middle is goin,"Hey, whattya want from me?"

I didn't know until not that long ago that the whole scene was improvised.

The beach scene in saving private ryan.

07-31-2005, 11:53 PM
The bathroom scene in Full Metal Jacket when the fat guy kills the Sarg and then himself, while Private Joker looks on.

The scene in Born on The Fourth Of July when Ron is screaming and crying from his wheelchair at his mom about the horror he has faced and lived with. Then at the end he rips his cathider (misspelled) out of his pants and talks about how he can't have sex anymore.

The scene in Unforgiven where Clint is talking to the prostitute with the scarred face and it's so sold outside the scars appear purple.

The scene in Apocalypse Now that cuts between the slaughter of the cow and the killing of Kurtz.

The Russion Roulette scenes in The Dear Hunter. Take your pick.

The closing scene of American Beauty.....

You realize this is freakin' impossible, right? I have far too many. It can number in the tens of dozens. If not hundreds. It's gonna drive me mad!

The last 10 minutes of Reservoir Dogs.

There's scenes within Reservoir Dogs I greatly prefer.

1.) Mr. Pink's chase scene, when he fires at the cops--so raw.
2.) The tip debate within the Diner.

1.) Mr. Pink's chase scene, when he fires at the cops--so raw.
Best scene in the movie, along with Joe and Nice Guy Eddie finally arriving at the warehouse, and Mr. Pink and Mr. White arguing about Mr. Orange.

I just love when he whips his pistol out of nowhere when he's stealing the car. The second shot of him shooting at the cops where it zooms on him is great.

Aliens: Bishop being ripped in half

Pay it Forward: Haley gets stabbed around the end of the movie just cause he stood up for that kid.

Blair Witch Project: Part where that guy is dragged into the woods and his teeth are left in the little trinket, all the while you are hearing his screaming.

Dark Water (original): Elevator scene, for thost that seen the original, you know which one I'm talking about. So sad.

Tale of Two Sisters: Last 30 minutes are beautifully insane.

That's all I can think of right now.

A bunch of people will probably say this but the opening scene of Touch of Evil. It is like 5 minutes long and goes everywhere in one shot. Crap. I thought the question was favorite shot. Well, that's mine anyway.

Maybe blue velvet when Jeffrey is hiding in the closet and Frank comes in and he shoots Frank in the head. Just having the Tom Gordon standing there like a zombie and Don Valens dead in the chair makes the scene beautiful and suspenseful.

Or maybe in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind whenJim Carrey's character can't make it to the end of the block as he follows Kate Winslet. That is some master camera trickery right there and is just really awesome.

Or... maybe in House of Flying Daggers at the very end. That whole fight scene where it snows. Beautiful and really dramatic and emotional too.

The Godfather - The scene with Michael and the police officer and the other gangster in the restaurant, right after the hospital scene....'nuff said.

Leon - The part in the end where Leon is leaving to go out onto the street. It's in slow motion, with no sound. Stansfield is right behind him, and he pulls out a gun....'nuff said.

The Usual Suspects - The final shootout at the docks near the end, where they all get picked off, one by one. 'Nuff said.

Miller's Crossing: Leo fighting off the intruders while "Danny Boy" plays in the background.

I love that. It's this beautiful, dramatic scene where this old man is being attacked in his bed, and having Danny Boy in the background is the typical Coen Brothers twist.

I love that bit near the end of Unforgiven, when Clint Eastwood's character rides into town. He walks into town and calmly opens the door. There's a big silence...and then he pulls out his gun and kills them all. It's amazing.

The Untouchables - I love big, dramatic shootouts. When they're in the train station, and they all assume their positions. All of a sudden, they all open fire. So cool.

The Last Samurai - After the samurai have been defeated, and all of the Japanese soldiers kneel and bow.....I still get choked up.

That movie was really good. Better than I expected.

The most powerful scene in a movie, that I have seen, is when Al Pacino looks out the window, while standing in frank's house, who he had just killed, and reads the words on the blimp "The World is Yours," in "Scarface"

Also the Hawaii scenes in "Punch Drunk Love", among others from that movie.

The end of The Shawshank redemption is one of the most emotionally moving scenes in a movie ever, it is one of the only movies that has actually brought a tear to my eye. The only other movie I can think of that did that was My Girl.

Another scene in that movie that is incredibly emotional is the Brooks death scene, the way they can manage to make such a tear grabbing scene out of a minor character is genuis.

Another scene just occured to me: the opening scene of Dawn of the Dead (original); the hectic news room, frantically trying to figure out this new problem that has arisen. It skips all that slow beginning stuff, and jumps to the problem is on a national scale part. It's just so ingenious to me, to start a zombie movie that way instead of some runaway barrel, or stumbling upon some lone zombie.
