Anyone else here log on at work? Does it effect your productivity?

Is it possible to get 8 hour bans? - If so, I'd like to schedule one, Mon - Fri, 12:00am to 8:00am.

I'm way behind on paperwork... is there a self-help forum for this kind of thing?

Do I really have to answer that? :D

Let me tell you a secret: when I come home, the only thing I do on my pc is play world of warcraft.

I ONLY log on at work, and this has been going on for like 2 months now

Things will change when I change jobs though. This one here is a day in hell, 5 times a week...

MX is the only thing that helps me through it, lol
At least now those 8 hours don't last an entire century haha

I have trick though. These people here are quite stupid. They give me an assignment and ask me how much time it will take, and I will reply:

"hmmm... normally it would be around 3 weeks, but I think I can manage doing it in 2" so they are all happy and excited and are in 7th heaven to my boss always telling him how much I rock with pc's...

If only they knew that that assignment only takes me about a day to complete

Plan B.

What do you do?

Software engineer. I create/program all kinds of tools to make life in a corporation easier :D

It's an outsourcing firm though. So my boss actually sends me to other corporations and I act as if I work for them for a couple months. So our clients sort of "rent" me from my boss.

HAhaha...

Well I just got a new job, though I doubt I'll have the abbility when working... not that I can complain about my job.

I leave my machine running for various reasons. I check in, stop by, post a time or two.. or like cases of now:
I'm home, havin a beer, chillin on my bed watchin a movie.. i just move my eyes over, swing a lil post over on the forums. Take a swig off the 40 and return to the movie..

'bout the same here...

I work midnights as a shipper / security / receptionist. I really only do about 30 minutes of actual work... the rest of the time is spent here, or myspace, or smoking, socializing with guys who actually work.

i confess, i spend too much time at work on mxdp and other places. i'm terrible. i'm also a software engineer who has too little pressure on me. i tend not to work well unless i'm under pressure. don't tell the boss that though. i want them thinking i'm bustin' my buns over here pulling off miracles.

Well, where I work, you can't really log on when bagging someone's groceries, but at school, all the time, I'm an aspiring software engineer, lol. My dream, aside from living off my drumming, would be to make video games, but I'll take working at some random company and being the technical jerk(see: SNL's skit about it, I forget the actual title, but it's like "Dan, your companies computer guy" or something like that). :naughty:

you could come to work for Electronic Arts here in my town, orlando, florida. i think they're the biggest video game company in the world. several of my friends have worked for them on sports games and stuff. they say it's fun, but lots of long hours.

Yeah, I'm usually at work when I post here. I have other stuff I'm supposed to be doing, but It's been so long since I have done it that I can't even remember what my job description is. I think I manage a bunch of websites or something like that.

It did when I was at school.
My math grade went from an 79 to a 66 in 5 weeks because of these forums.
It also messed with my writing in English.
The essay on the final was completely rude and I did nothing but use my English teacher as an example of what an instructor shouldn't be.
I wasn't bitter until MX.

Guilty here as well. I'm also a software engineer that spends far too much time in this forum while at work.

Pespi, you made me feel smarter :) I logged on at school once...I got suspeneded for the rest of the day... for some reason they found mx... offensive... But then again the thread I was looking at got hijacked.

For sure. Not only here, but the million other drum-related things you can do online. I wouldn't call it an addiction, just a thirst for knowledge. I work way more than 40hrs/week so I don't really worry about the time I spend on this little vice.

What?
My math grade only sucked because I had it first period and the big fat oaf of a teacher had it out for me from day one.
I ended up with a 95 in English anyways.

Oh in that case... I know how you feel. 1st period is always the worst, especially when you sit in front of a fat oaf...

I can't even access the forums from college, they've got one of those filter things that blocks "tasteless" websites.

How can they count MXDP as pr0n? Thats what websense clasifies as "tasteless"

You have that in COLLEGE? I thought by college they weren't retarded like that, treated you like adults.

Yeah, it's stupid, you can quite easily access dirty pictures, even through the front door of some sites, it's a bit useless really.

No no.. we are still children in college.

Ash trays outside the libraries, but the library computers are filtered. Least you put anything in your body that may be harmful through your eyes.

Think about that.

Oh, but we can kill ourself with various chemicals, that the tobbaco companies that want us to buy stuff, so they can go home, lay down in a couch and watch TV while they have their butler get a coke.

Guys... I think we have a problem:(

Futuro
01-28-2006, 02:06 PM
No, It is simple. I got to work and never have a problem with wanting to go on MX. I do spend alot of time on here. But While I am on here I am practicing rudiments ETC. That is pretty lame if an internet forum is getting in the way of work....

Oh and nice bump...

i'm not around computers at work, but i do often get distracted if i come on the computer at home to study or something. occasionally i'll come on my computer to see if one of my friends is on to ask them a quick question, and i come on here, then end up staying on here way too long.
