i just want to know how many artist that had gone solo that came from a great band and still doing great at their own merits....

i could name a few and im a big fan of these guys.... :)

Ya, John Frusciante was the first to come to mind.
Dave Navarro had a good underrated rock album.
Lou Reed has a couple of very underrated albums.
Joe Perry's solo stuff is fairly good also.

i dont think so..... he did a one song collaborated by Dj Shadow though it was good it wasnt that successful for his Zack's part in hip-hop world....

Becker was never in Megadeth... Perhaps you where thinking of Freidmen? Freidmen does have a solo project, which I believe he started before Megadeth.

You are correct on saying Becker went solo, because he was originally in Cacaphony with Freidman.

His solo stuff BLOWS! He is nothing without Rage. I wish they were still around. Audioslave is NO WHERE close to how good Rage was.

foo fighters cant be considered a solo stuf but probot could be, considering he was the only permanent artist in that line-up... :)

morissey had a nice carrer after he left the smith...and so does sting with police...

the only track he did as a solo artists was that track he collaborated with Dj Shadow called "march of death".... it doesnt even sound like hip-hop to me

There's Probot, but Foo Fighters counts too because he played all the instruments on their first album.
