What about the scariest computer game you've played?

The scariest game I've played is Undying.. That game is amazingly freaky

I remember playing Doom 2 for the first time a while back. I'd jump out of my skin everytime an Archvile would appear and try to torch me.

My first computer came with a demo for the original doom on it... Every single time I played it I got scared out of my mind when things would jump out at me... And for some reason when Im doing a mission on one of my GTA games, after I pass/fail I always find myself shaking... I dunno...

I don't know how I forgot about this one, as it's one I have on my computer at the moment. But yeah, it's a scary one. I'm playing through the Marine part of the game right now and am working through the part where I'm opening doors to let the big APC through. It is creepy as hell.

I haven't seen the video of it yet, but my friend went to CPL and got to test it out on a high end alienware. He has a pretty high standard of video games....and he said it was freaking sweet, so that excited me.

It is ... creatures jump out at you and ambush you; there's traps in the walls, floors and ceilings, etc.

But Quake's scariness came from the element of surprise. Silent Hill, for example, is just plain disturbing.

Yea thief was pretty ****ing scary. I remember playing and those warrior guys chasing you. And then there was that big hole in the first level where you can fall and like a big spider down there or something. I forgot what it was.

:D told ya!.. First time I played that game, I was home alone, had just installed my surround sound set, and it was 1 am.. .. I almost **** my pants after 2 minutes, shut down my computer, and didn't play the game for a month because of it

ya, i got system shock 2...but it refuses to run on my new computer....every time i try to open it an error is reported and the game shuts down. it worked on an old computer............but not a new one?

It does take some tweaking to run on newer systems. It needs patching to run under windows 2000/ XP, and you need to disable the hyperthreading for that particular process once it's running, but it can be done.
It runs fine on my 3.2GHz p4 under windows 2000.

Doom 3 has to be. I've only played the demo for Xbox but i was scared most not of the game but that fact that if something really scary hapened that I would cry out while i was playing it. I happened to b playing it at Gamestop during the day. I dont want to imagine playing at night.
