Hey everyone, I know that in the old forum some of the users had this goal of reviewing Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums List. In the review, the writer would say, "This album is (#) on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums List."

After searching the archives, I found Iai's list:

Good job, Iai (http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=285650)

Of course, the only problem is that a) the list is outdated since Sputnikmusic's inception, and b) the links take you to the archives.

Would it be possible (heh, stick it to Med when he returns from vacation or something :p) to update Iai's list, possibly in this thread?

So, are we going to try to finish reviewing that list? Or are we just scrapping that idea?

Anyway, I'm open to everyone's thoughts on this matter.

That's a good idea, me thinks.

Oh, and, just in case anyone hasn't done it, I call The B-52's.

oh yeah, I remember that list, I wish they would start it up again.

We would have to bring it to the attention of the average Sputnik user though, then it would make sense (again). Not so many folks venture in this forum, not speaking of the locals (Med, mx and me) and a handful of regulars (Jom, Iai, constant something
_vague for example).

I'll plot something to do so... Ideas welcome. :)

I was planning to do it anyway. I'll update it with the new links. Might take me a while, but I'll get it done. :)

Edit: Especially since I made this (http://rateyourmusic.com/lists/list_view/list_id_is_24051). It's becoming something of an obsession. :p

Since it took 5 whole posts, I'll make a new thread.

Heh, you will have a bit of time updating them all, but at least you can search Sputnik a bit more efficiently than you could in the CD Reviews archive, heh.

If I do one post a day it won't be too much hassle.

1-100 is done already. :)

Ah, that's a good plan. I asked in your thread if you wanted any help, because I'd be more than happy to take 401-500 or some other post number, but if you're going to do one a day, then it's no hassle, heh.

Your one working bee Iai. :) I'll give the "500 thread" of yours a sticky treatment :thumb:

EDIT: Would it make sense to close it so it does not get 'spammed' so to say?

Well, he can't edit the posts if it's closed, that's the only thing. Unless you and him are online at the same time and coordinate the opening and closing of the thread.

Ah, memories. I even remember, prior to Sputnik being brought about, that I bought The B-52s to review.

Anyway, if you're worried about it being spammed, just put a note in it to the effect that anyone who posts in it pointlessly (other than those working on it, naturally) will be banned for a day or two, and I'll enforce it, if you let me know who (if anyone) needs banning.

Also, I don't think we can move things out of the Archives, anyway.

I don't think it'd be a problem to have it as an active thread, as long as those first few posts stay in place. Then people can post to say when one has been done, in case I/the mods miss it.. Maybe I'll edit in a note above the first 100 explaining what it is, too.

Makes sense... So we'll let it open and see how people behave. :)

And thanks for the ban-enforcing offer, Bartender. :)

I completely forgot about this until Iai noted it in a review of mine. I can do quite a few and I think I'll get on some.
