This is a song from our first EP. We had to record all 5 songs in a day and a half so the mixing isnt so hot. My bass track is kinda loud and may peak a bunch if you listen to it too loud.

This song turned out good but the others need some remixing so after we get that done Ill post those too. Also our drummer used his an electric set, were redoing the drum tracks with his acoustic drums.

so enjoy and any reviews would be greatly appreciated!

****EDIT**** We have 4 songs on our myspace now, please check them out www.myspace.com/theetacarinae

Not bad at all man

Singer needs to sing louder

Music pretty tight

Vocals are alright but need to be more confident

Thanks man, I know the bassist in another local band that needed an opener so he came and watched us play and said our music "wasnt very tight".

So if anyone else reviews this can you throw in a tightness factor rating? lol

I like that, the bass is cool. Its quite mellow, reminds me a little of an AAF song, can't think which one though.
It seems quite tight to me, I like it.

i really like the bass part! its pretty impresiive. the singign is really good but it needs a little more emotion imo, but i think the volume level is good. The guitar is interesting as well and the drums are good too, i like the cymbal work!

coudl u possibly critique my band, i woudl really apreciate it! http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=364623

hey, you know, I normally don't listen to this style of music, but I really thought you did a great job on this.

Suggestions: louder vocals, guitars could be a little louder. You could experiment with some distortion if you wanted to.

EDIT: I am a big time noob to recording. Out of curiosty, what equipment did you use to get all the instruments in?

Yeah, what equipment was used in this recording. It was okay, not a big fan of the music, but nice job.

we used a digital recorder our drummer's dad had, I'm not sure exactly what kind it was but it was new in 96 I think he said. I couldnt believe all it could do but I'm not too experienced in recording equipment either. We ran our amps through instrument mics into a mixer and then into the recorder. We did thjose 4 songs plus another one that needs some work in a day and a half

how many tracks did the drums take?

EDIT: Assuming it was like an 8 or 16 track digital recorder?

we used our drummers dads electric set instead of taking the time to move our drummers acoustic set since we only had like a day to do it all
