Hey I am recording directly into my computer using a Soundblaster 2 Audigy ZS Platinum. I have my guitar running into my Boss ME-50 effects processor out of the head phone jack into my line in 2 on the front of my pc and when I record it seems staticy. I am not sure what the problem is... do I need to run it through a non-powered mixer? The vocals are fine without even a pro mic, just a $40 computer headset, but they are pretty clear, at least comapared to the guitar.

Hmm well i do the same thing but everytime i run it through a pedal it gets fuzzy so find a program where you can add effects after recording it or plug into the amp and let the mic do the recording.

I turned off my monitor and it got a lot better... lots of interference.

Make sure you "Line-In" recording level (in windows) is adjusted down. You should also be able to adjust the volume (output) on your Boss so you don't overdrive the soundcard.
