Well, I looked through the first five pages and couldn't find a World of Warcraft thread. This lead me to use the search function where all I found was sucks. Basically post everything related to World of Warcraft in this thread. If you have questions, ask them and they will hopefully get answered. (know any good locations of vast tin and silver veins?)

My main is a level 34 Tauren hunter on Bleeding Hollow named samtoast[has something to do with my cousins fraternity name and his pledge name]. I'm currently working up to my mount by doing instances and trying to save dough [if you could tell me a great way to make money quick I'd love to hear it]. I'm in a wicked guild and love to cause alot of havoc in the General chats (much to my delight, it's similar to the spam threads in the pit [barrens chat]).

Today, after my friends came over I attempted to log on. Much to my dissmay it said my account had been suspended. Having to pay monthly for this game, I was pissed. So I go and check my email to find this:

dude you have no idea. I have a lvl 43 Mage on Laughing Skull and I play with people who get offended if I use the word damn.


What really pissed me off is people get offended by swearing, and will report you for swearing...yet they manually go in and turn the swear filter off that is automatically enabled to prevent such talking being seen by children.

I remember there was this guild on my server who liked doing nothing but being dicks to everyone, and they hated the guild leader of my guild I was in at the time. So they report our leader for doing something stupid...so the GM's of WoW listen in on our guild chat. I was an officer at the time of this guild....and one of our members said "Dude, don't say **** because you don't know if they're watching or not..." And he got banned for 2 days for saying that...saying it was inappropriate language.

Blizzard is WAY to sensitive when it comes to swearing.

Turn the filter on lady, and if it's bad enough, leave the channel and join a new one. It's not that hard to get around swear words.

Even the ESRB has a warning that boldly states.

Game Experience may change during online play.

Know what that means?

That means they will only give the game a Teen rating due to comical violence, suggestive themes, use of violence and blood. They won't give it a mature rating for language and such. That won't stop users from using it, so read the message and deal with it. And if you don't like it, don't play the game...it's simple.

Did anyone else hate what the last patch did to the game? It's been nothing but problems and added lag for me. And now I hear they're changing things for druids in the next patch. My main is a level 59 druid, I'll probably hit 60 tomorrow, I'm really hoping they don't screw around with it too much. I've specialized my character in the talents that no one likes (the balance tree) and I hope they don't make it even weaker with the endgame content.

Bout time we got a WoW thread...

I play a 37 Rogue on Stormreaver. My guild is full of some of most lewd yet awesome people ever. One night they were getting wasted, and they come on and start doing /rand1000, with the lowest person having to drink. I can recall many nights where my guildies have been plastered in the guild chat, which would somewhat help to quell the rage created by the high level horde ganking me while I grind in STV.

If you want a real laugh, go on my realm's forum on the community forums. So much drama. There also use you to be so many trolls on those forums, including a NE named Bannielas who reported people for swearing because he was Christian and said that he wouldn't let his children play horde. There was another troll who would make these weird posts about how her mom and dad were the best at PvP and created her which made her good at PvP. Quite weird.

Anyway, good to see a WoW thread.

I used to play this game but it got old. I was a 60 mage on khadgar realm. I was in Legacy of Honor ( http://www.legacyofhonor.net )

I quit playing before they beat majordomo and finally rag. But thats alright. The game was boring the hell outta me. Leveling up to 60 was the **** but once you hit 60 and do the higher instances a few times you may as well quit. I pvp'ed too. Invaded all the horde towns, killed some leaders etc. Basically everything to do in the game. :(

To that EQ nerd, there is no end game in EQ. Raids are run by 40 year old retards who haven't seen the sun since they saw the last piece of poon.

WoW is meant to be easy so people play till the end game, which is pvp raids that are more fun than any bullcrap loot raid in EQ.

the graphics can actually be pretty good if you have a good computer.....i love WoW but really didnt like warcraft 3 at all. it easily has a much bigger/better story than AoE though. keep in mind its all 3d.

I can easily get 300 HKs soloing in AV, which grant me at least 20 cp per kill. That's just spamming flamestrike.

Honestly, if you're telling me you can't kill a rogue if you catch him before he rapes you, you suck.

I can easily get 2k damage off without critting after sheeping someone within 6 seconds of breaking sheep. If I have a PoM pyro 3.1k. Assuming my 20% chance to crit doesn't pop in.

I'm the best equipped mage my lvl, and right now I'm 43, 31 Arc/3 fire. The only classes I have real trouble with are Priests/Druids/Shamans.

Rogues/Warriors/Warlocks/Hunters I raaaape.

Story Time:

I was dueling in Darkshire when I was like lvl 29 or so...and a rogue goes to duel me. Well he stealths around for a bit and I throw on mana sheild. He gets the jump, I blink, PoM a fireball his way, fireblast, cone of cold...etc...my usual routine. He's down to 15% health, and he tries to vanish. I hit frost nova to get him outta vanish. He breaks outta it pretty quick and then proceeds to run off. I guess he tried to exit combat or something...but he runs and hooks a left around the inn straight into a wall. I follow him....sit there as he's running into the wall...laugh...then end it.


Another Time...

I was dueling a druid and he beats me. I was like Good Fight /bow and asked him to go again. He said sure and we rested...and I thought all was well. Next duel I rape him. I said good fight, made him some water and did a /bow. He's then like...."You happy now?" I was like "Excuse me?" he's like "Your ego that big you can't take a lose, you have to duel again to win?" I was like "I'm not the one being the sore loser. Besides, if you beat me....of course I wanna duel again?"...then he proceeded to tell me that I was the sore loser and I had a big ego and the he blacklisted me. I just rofled and told everyone that he sucks at dueling.

WoW is a horrible game IMO. Played a level 40 druid but gave away my account and cd's. The game is just... boring. Horrible lore and lack of variety in spells. Pvp was a joke. Make it to 60... only to do what?

End-Game raids, and the lore is not bad. You should really read the back stories, and the novels. Although I do agree about the lack in variety of spells, The PVP is better than any other game I have played. They have an arena where you can ffa and certain areas where it's more than just "I kill you, you kill me."

I'm a level 45 warrior and a level 30 druid. I prefer playing with the druid, but it's only really of soloing use outside. Inside it's just a nerfed shamen. Warriors can be interesting, but in pvp they're a bit dull. You always slaughter rogues, and mages will just poly, frost nova and kill. There appears to be no room for tactics.

That said, an awful mage can still be killed. Warriors fill their specific role better than any class, and so are far superior than druids at getting places in groups.

Anybody else who can't download the new patch? it's saying "the blizzard downloader could not connect to the tracker...". This happened last time but I was able to download from an external source. No such luck this time. They have all failed to get the thing running.

I have a level 40 Troll Mage on the Khadgar realm. It's a great game and definetly worth the 15 a month. My friend got me into a serious level 60 raiding guild so I'm set when (or if) I get to 60. There are alot of people who piss me off in WoW, especially people who get offended by curses, Chinese Gold Farmers, and all Alliance in general.

Go to Thousand Needles. I quested there from 25-32.

In the alliance you always get "there are too many hordes on this server!" followed by "dumb lvl ?? noob!". That annoys me no end. From what I've seen, we appear to have far more. It's really easy to raid horde lands as they simply don't have enough people to defend it. I was in a raid of 10 people level 45 - 52, and we rampaged around barrens with little retaliation.

a raid can mean a couple of different things in WoW. If it's a pvp raid, then yeah...it's going to any opposings factions town and just killing anything and everything. If it's a boss raid...then that's going to a dungeon and raiding a boss.

ok fine, I was in a bad mood yesterday because I couldn't get on DoD source, didn't mean to go off I apologize.

BUT, if you wanna talk about cheap as hell classes take a look at the Shaman. Mail, Shocks, Totems that dispel almost every single negative status effect, heals, self res, 15 minutes hearths, high dmg attacks???


Paladins may have hella armor and sheilds, but look at the shaman and how much more versatile it is than a Paladin. I usually don't complain about Shaman's even if I do play alliance because I think they're an extremely fun class. But saying that the only people who play Paladins are kids and they're a noob class, I'm saying do a little more research than just the noob 60 who runs every now and again. If you wanna duel some good ones...go on a forum and call out some paladins to a certain area and you should get some good ones.

Sorry again, but I just hate people who do nothing but rag on the alliance just because everyone thinks the noobs play them (which a lot of the time they do, I'm not going to deny it, but horde has them too)

IF is horrible. Too many people.

I choke and spike, but I don't reboot. People with ATI cards have many issues with WoW it seems. I play on Archi, which is CST as it's in Chicago. Sometimes my latency pegs around 1000 in that place, but everywhere else it's 120 or so on average.

Dunno if you have an ATI card, or whatever, but all my buds with ATI cards have similar issues in IF.

Check the tech support forum. Search around for ATI issues. I know of one major bug regarding ATI VPU crashes in Searing Gorge specifically. If it happens there, it could happen in IF too.

Just google Wow Patch. Other sites host it much more efficiently than Blizzard.

Their bit torrent takes forver to download the patch. I use fileplanet. It's worth the 10 bucks a month to me.

It's bad enough their patches take forever to install, but there's no reason why you should have to suffer the torrent's lag.

yeah, they've really worked on the PvP section of the game. The PvP is probably the biggest thing to do now because everyone at all lvl ranges can do it. You don't have to wait till 60, unless you're doing Alterac Valley...which no one does anymore anyways.

Roll on a PvP server. There's much more focus on PvP (duh) and if you roll horde, the wait time for battlegrounds (arguably the best place to PvP) is ridiculously short.

If you're EST, roll on Burning Blade, regardless of what's recommended to you. But, it does involve killing stuff, and questing.

I love how people always go "thank god you're rest spec'd" to my feral spec'd druid... Could it be that people grossly underestimate our healing powers?

Message to people thinking of becoming a druid: do it! You really are a one man army, and PvP is awesome (you can travel very fast in cat form + use stealth. You can root warriors, avoid polymorphs, tank rogues and, just as they're close to killing you, you can heal yourself and continue the mauling.
If this isn't enough, you can grind 9 same level mobs at a time with the help of a mage, with plenty of free water to boot. You also don't struggle (at all) to get into groups... especially when it's level 60 and you, ahem, let it slip that you can innervate ;)

Problem being that I hate doing instances without a pally or with a rogue/ mage that gets too much agro around a warrior too incompetent to keep the agro on himself (it's not that bloody difficult. Shout every 8 seconds, rend etc. DoT's, high threat attacks and a focus shout... you can do it!). With a pally and a mage in the group, the buffs far outweigh what would be there with a priest, and you can res the entire group with the pally. If you can get a group with a druid, a pally, a mage, a warrior and a rogue, you're about to own an instance.

Druids: The Anti-Mage class.
We're really weak to your magic and you can stop us healing. Of all the classes, mages are generally the ones that pose the biggest problem. That said... I usually kill them and they can't run away. If I was rest spec'd it'd probably be a different story though.

Yeh, this is why I only really use my Druid now. I got fed up of pvp with a warrior.

I love how people always go "thank god you're rest spec'd" to my feral spec'd druid... Could it be that people grossly underestimate our healing powers?

Message to people thinking of becoming a druid: do it! You really are a one man army, and PvP is awesome (you can travel very fast in cat form + use stealth. You can root warriors, avoid polymorphs, tank rogues and, just as they're close to killing you, you can heal yourself and continue the mauling.
If this isn't enough, you can grind 9 same level mobs at a time with the help of a mage, with plenty of free water to boot. You also don't struggle (at all) to get into groups... especially when it's level 60 and you, ahem, let it slip that you can innervate ;)

Problem being that I hate doing instances without a pally or with a rogue/ mage that gets too much agro around a warrior too incompetent to keep the agro on himself (it's not that bloody difficult. Shout every 8 seconds, rend etc. DoT's, high threat attacks and a focus shout... you can do it!). With a pally and a mage in the group, the buffs far outweigh what would be there with a priest, and you can res the entire group with the pally. If you can get a group with a druid, a pally, a mage, a warrior and a rogue, you're about to own an instance.


Where's your warrior? When character trading comes, I'm trading my mage for a warrior.

I don't see why you want to trade. It's relatively easy to get groups but they're quite boring in PvP. one on one you're at a disadvantage (unless you're fighting a rogue. 9 times out of ten they're dead), and BG is more fun with other classes.

I think I'll roll a blood elf mage when the expansion comes out. I imagine a lot of people will do the same though...

I keep hearing about "leeroy jenkins" but never really understood what it was about...

My warrior is level 60, but only just so I lack the sweet gear. The problem I find is that I'm so often rooted, frost novad, polymorphed or suc'd that I can't get to them, and I lack the ability to sneak up on them. If I manage to charge though...

rend, hamstring, crit, hit, execute with an overpower or two for those pesky rogues. :)

Yeah, thats ****ing nuts. The sword spec has a 6% chance to proc another swing, and that swing has a chance to proc again.

And Futue, Berzerker stance is your friend. As soon as you get out of the root, intercept+hamstring. Mages are butter if you can charge them and spam hamstring.

They still have blink and frost nova though. A good mage will be able to keep me at a distance and slowly smack my xp down; and polymorph/ blink away if it looks like I'm winning/ they're running out of mana. I only manage to win about 30% of the time against a mage.

Night Elves are nice for this aspect, because of shadowmeld.

Feign Death and Disengage are your friend if you're a hunter. They usually pull hamstring off which is tough to deal with. But if you can get him im a freezing trap...kiting is Generally easy with a warrior.


My friend has a 60 hunter on Kalecgos and I watch him PvP. I've seen him take on warriors who can't even get a hit off.

1. Aimed shot.
2. if he hasn't started coming at me i'll concussive, then scorpid sting
3. if he runs up towards me, wing clip, running past him (it's hard for them to turn around quick)
4. I keep running aaway from him (he's slowed) turn around, concussive shot. if he gets stunned, i aimed shot. if not i just arcane shot and keep pounding away on him
5. all the while my pet has been attacking him.

rinse. repeat.

I always go for the farm first off and get the mill on way back up to protect the stables.

But usually people just get killed, and we end up getting camped at our respawn point. Because dumb noobs thinks it's a good idea to protect the mines AND THAT'S IT. They just hang out at the mines, no matter even if we're getting camped at the respawn. They don't even move to catch other points, and we usually lose within 5 minutes of entering.

That's what really pisses me off, 40-90 minutes of waiting....5 minutes of playing.

My main toon is only 47 on Archi. I didnt really try any of the BGs till I hit 40, so it was pretty awesome.

I've seen both sides of the coin. I've seen Warriors own Hunters and I've seen Hunters own Warriors.


Honestly, I think it's all in the race, I think Night Elves make the best hunters next to Orcs.

They're good rogues, only because of the Quickness feat, which is nice, but not ALL that nice for rogues.


I guess they have shadowmeld, just incase your stealth isn't cooldowned yet. And they have the highest agility next to Gnomes on Alliance side.

You didnt miss anyhting in regards to SWG. It sucked at release and it sucked when I finally quit. That game took more than a year from me. I loved it, but I hated it, and they still haven't fixed it.

I played on Bria. We crashed the server nightly until they finally told us we weren't allowed to have 100 vs 100 pvp fights. Everyone was pretty shocked. What's the point of Star Wars if we can't wage war? I quit to play Planetside, and then the guys finally convinced me to try WoW.

I think WoW is the most fun MMO I've ever played. Even with the getting ganked by bored geared up 60s. I love the game. It's terribly fun, and the pvp is a great deal of fun. Then again, I play with no less then 10 guys almost all the time, and we all use TS or vent or whatever. Can't lose when you can talk out the strategies as opposed to typing.

I started on FFXI when it launched, and played for a solid year and a half. Then I quit to play WoW beta when it came out, I tried other MMO's such as City of Heroes(meh), Everquest II(good, but you have to extremely serious about it), The Matrix Online(ugh, never again), and Star Wars: Galaxies(we already know my feelings about it.)

WoW is by far the best, with FFXI in a very VERY close second.

Yeah I loved CoH but no pvp. CoV is almost out now, but I don't know if they will get enough people to make it work.

EQ2 was good but I have a life thanks. I mean, what a crap community of super dork nerd idiots who enjoy camping a single mob for 4 hours just to get some loot. Plus the raids can take 6 hours or so. WoW has that for you, but it's not a necessity.

EQ2 was like work. It wasn't fun at all. I was going to try the FF one, but I hate FF. Odd I know, but I couldn't find love for it.

The WoW devs are my age and lower. It shows in all they do. You can't beat devs who not only want you to have fun, but they want you to progress in nothing but fun. Every MMO has it's grind, but in WoW you can take breaks to hit BGs and goof off or whatever. Every quest is worth it.

Final Fantasy XI isn't anything like the other games. It's just pretty much it's own game with the FF titles and a few select things from the other games.

Such as, a lot of the same summons, The classes if you're referring to the first one. I read in an article that the FF creators are working an a new MMO, which I'm pretty excited about.

But I agree about EQII, But some of the things they've completed and the mobs they killed sound pretty cool. I think it was in the first one they killed the Timekeeper (or something like that) and Netharion pales in comparison to that.

BUT, one thing I am VERY VERY excited for in regards to WoW is the fact a new raid boss in The Burning Crusade will be Illidan.

That should be pretty awesome.

Hopefully, there's a lot of bugs they need to fix. My favorite one is when I start casting arcane missles, and it takes up mana and channelling time, but the missles don't fire and no dmg is dealt. :upset:

I'm starting to think druids are actually overpowered in pvp. I just killed 3 people (5-6 levels below me) at the same time with 15% mana and 20% health left.

I saw a mage, went into cat form and attacked from behind. A warrior and a hunter then came when the mage was at 50%, the warrior charging and effectively acting like the hunters pet. The mage stops running away (idiot) giving me time to kill it, sprint from the warrior, heal myself and root the warrior before going to hand to hand with the hunter. The hunter smacks my health down a fair bit, so I take a mana potion and heal myself before switching to bear form. Life gets taken down, I switch form, root and spam moonfire and wrath on the warrior.

I then run away as fast as my four legs can carry me, not wanting to risk trying again.

A crit spec'd warrior with awesome (attack/ crit hit) gear is pretty overpowered in PvP aslong as you have lots of buffs and healing. One on one PvP is pretty dire though.

We just soak up *so* much damage, and group PvP is too fast for you to die most of the time, giving you a lot of HK's.

I still wish I had made a priest though...

dude you have no idea. I have a lvl 43 Mage on Laughing Skull and I play with people who get offended if I use the word damn.


What really pissed me off is people get offended by swearing, and will report you for swearing...yet they manually go in and turn the swear filter off that is automatically enabled to prevent such talking being seen by children.

I remember there was this guild on my server who liked doing nothing but being dicks to everyone, and they hated the guild leader of my guild I was in at the time. So they report our leader for doing something stupid...so the GM's of WoW listen in on our guild chat. I was an officer at the time of this guild....and one of our members said "Dude, don't say **** because you don't know if they're watching or not..." And he got banned for 2 days for saying that...saying it was inappropriate language.

Blizzard is WAY to sensitive when it comes to swearing.

I played 3 hours every few days.

In 10 days of gametime, I've reached 48, and attained the rank of Sergeant.

The thing is, the quests are a blast. No grind if you dont want it. The quests are all fun enough, as the devs are young and don't take themselves too serious like other games.

If you decide to play on a pvp server, I wish you luck. It's tough. You get ganked and camped a lot, but once you get there, it's fun as hell.

The non pvp servers are just as much fun I would think.

And the loot! OHHHH the loot!

Now I play 3 to 4 hours a night. Every night.

I prefer instances to quests though. I got from level 44 - 50 mostly via ZF. This is largely due to being on a PvP server with around 60% horde and having a char that people will literally beg to get in their already formed group...

So, Mages probably won't get worked until Spring 2006 at this point.

You will also get a fairly embarrassed rogue when you out dps them, which happens quite regularly, even when you have given them mark of the wild, thorns and the 3% crit buff :)

Druids are awesome in PvP too. if you're tauren (i'm NE) then you will have trouble beating a pally, but then they're pallys, so you can just walk away!
Survivavility is huge as a druid, and we can exploit nearly every classes weaknesses very well.

You can also team up with a mage and aoe grind. You go cat form, round up the mobs and the mage aoe's them whilst you heal the mage. You can take 8+ at a time and you can do it regularly, making leveling and getting money quite easy. Afterwards you expend your mana on giving both full health, then you drink water that the mage has pre-made. As long as there are plenty of mobs and very little ganking you won't have too much of a problem. Very few people will risk taking on a mage and druid combo ;)

In short: Druids are brilliant to play as, much wanted in groups and are very versatile. I'd suggest rest spec though, as I'm only feral because I play for PvP

Sorry, I didn't read it. No, it's not cenarion. I'm level 54.
I plan on getting cenarion as soon as possible as I'm respec'ing some resto; rest in balance. I'm getting invited to raid groups on the basis of me being a druid, but then I say "sorry, I'm feral spec" and they leave. Only same level groups of 5 beg me now, and out of desperation for a healer.

I'm going to get wildheart first though. It doesn't look as cool (it doesn't look like a tree trunk with antlers... which is very cool) but it'll do 'til I get cenarion.

ps - that's buggered and I don't know why. I had 5 in balance and 40 in resto, effectively doing all of them up to pretty much maximum with the exception of regrowth and the ones that effect feral. I'm going to wait 'til I've got to level 60 with decent gear before I have another go at Feral.

Yeah, I heard Balance isn't even that much of a great tree to go into. My friend who regularly runs MC and BWL say that druids who are balance specced and use moonkin form are still low low on the list of dps.


If you do a lot of pvp, and you can get items like The Unstoppable Force and (if you're lucky enough to attain the status) the Grand Marshal gear. You can spec feral and do some craaazy dmg with that gear.

The ease with which I can kill a mage when I attack compared to when they attack me also makes them KoS, which I imagine is a bit annoying for them. It goes as such: To summarize it, you can't polymorph him, you can't frostnova him, he can heal, he has moonfire to kill you, and he has instantcast travelform to hunt you down. It's too late to run when in battle, you should just mount up and leave when you see one.
If a mage wants to kill me, then he had better wait 'til I'm already in a fight. Even then I'd just go travel form, run away, prowl and root him when he's aoe grinding.

This really should be addressed, I feel. Sure, all classes have their weakness, but should one class be this helpless against another? Yeah, they can stop me healing, but then I can fake heal using hearthstone and then throw up a regrowth when they’ve used their interrupt. Since I found that out I have yet to be killed by a mage within 5 levels of me. They lose mana in the interrupt and I don’t; turning one of their best weapons against me into a weakness.
Yeah, I heard Balance isn't even that much of a great tree to go into. My friend who regularly runs MC and BWL say that druids who are balance specced and use moonkin form are still low low on the list of dps.


If you do a lot of pvp, and you can get items like The Unstoppable Force and (if you're lucky enough to attain the status) the Grand Marshal gear. You can spec feral and do some craaazy dmg with that gear.I’ve never liked it either. I don’t see how moonkin is worth putting 31 points into the tree, tbh. I can out dps a rogue whilst offering +3% crits to all melee around me. A resto druid can innervate and give some pretty good heals. What can a balance druid do? Spam moonfire? They can raise the dps of the casters, but unlike a feral, they can’t compete with the dps and they don’t have a full mana pool for emergency healing. That and a feral druid is nowhere near as useful to a group as a resto druid, so balance is really quite low compared to resto.

I REALLY would like to know whether this is crap or not. Druids seem like a very fun class, and I can't stand classes with no DPS, as some say druids have.

You run away and we'll intercept. You'll be stunned; rend'd and hamstringed. You'll be as slow as us, close to us and with far inferior armour and hand to hand ability. Perhaps I've just never met a good hunter, but they generally pose no threat to me.

on my way through the warrior, i'll have wing clipped so he may be stopped or slowed ALOT. then I turn around and continue to pummel when I'm within ranged distance (4 yds) and concussive which usually freezes.

And to cKy: Yeah, I know mages aren't that gimped...but when it comes to dps we should be on top. Yet rogues and warriors can out dps us. Damage at high end becomes slighted....Blizzard has even recognized this. Of course we can fight people, but not effectively anymore. Polymorph is still nice, but now anyone can get out of it (even if it's one every 5 minutes). Same with frost nova and freezing effects. I can still PvP extremely well, it just seems that I'm starting to get beat by more and more classes lately.

At 60 it gets better. With +damage gear with real stats you can do much better.

Btw, play on Burning Blade horde side, I'll make a new character with you, and I can get you into an active MC raiding guild. I've already started a druid.
