Hey this is is a song I posted a while ago which I have now reposted with music (obviousness++). Anyway tell me what you think I know I'm a **** singer but I try to make do with what I've got. Sorry you'll have to download it as I don't have soundclick.

Nos

Well I guess it
Goes to show
I’m only as big
As I glow

Well I guess it’s
A wish to grow
My silence hides
The truths that I know

And they say
She handled
I can’t hide
Can’t hide my evil mind

Well I guess that
I’m scathed with
The soul of
An infant

Well I guess I
Hide in her scent
It floats me
Above them

And I lie
She’s secret
I can’t hide
Can’t hide my evil mind

And I say
Please don't go
I can't hide
Can't hide my evil mind

Hey Dude, I downloaded the track and I really like the music. I was wondering if you could tell me the chords you played on guitar. If you could email it to me that would be awesome. FINLEYROX@aol.com And also the lyrics are really good!

Thanks, VivaLaSam461

The guitar is really great. Reminds me of J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr). Nothing stands out lyrically, though. I guess it's an okay backdrop to display some guitar skills.

Lyric wise, nothing is too astonishing in that aspect... The guitar is good, soothing too listen too.

What's up with that bending at around :52 etc. I feel like I've heard this before. This music is not too bad except for that bending ****. The lyrics are nothing too special, but they work well with the music.

Yeah the bending does sound a little weird but I actually quite like it's almost out of place sound. Any other opinions on the bending?

Yes, no bending.... Out of place sound, maybe..... But I would say, show off your "bending skills" where it is needed or sounds better

Awesome, I'm glad most people seemed to like it. What are your opinions on the singing? Do you think I should stay the singer in my band or get an actual singer instead?

I thought the singing was like the lyrics. Not exceptional but working well with the mood of the song.

i think the recording itself could be ten times better if it wasnt a live recording. try doing vocals and guitar seperately. but this forum isnt about the music. lyrics are very simplistic yet thought provoking to an extent. You could elaborate a little more but I like it. I don't like the line "My evil mind". What's even worse is that you use it as being somewhat of a refrain. You pump out these awesome metaphors and whatnot and then that ? You're better than that and you show it in this song. I just don't like that line. But I like it.

The strumming pattern in the recording is very different which I like. So much respect to you for being able to play something thats not standard like one chord to a measure with up-down strumming and being able to sing (if you can call that singing). Your voice needs work. Like I said before. Try recording each part seperate from eachother, then you can really concentrate on putting more power behind your voice. Also warm up with the scale your using and try and sing along to the notes.

9.8/10 Great work ! :thumb:

Thanks everyone for the crits especially broken. I tried singing the same notes as the chords I'm playing which seemed to help but i won't really be able to tell till I record it.

It sucks that its just a D- Chord playerd but at different spots. No bending. And the singing sounds really whiny. If you elikminate that the song would be better.

6/10

You could be a good singer. You have great potential. Keep singing. Not bad at all.

Thanks all, Vivalasam I'm kinda surprised by your sudden change of heart, was it because the guitar wasn't hard enough? I don't claim to be a great player and most of my songs are quite simple.

Why does it matter if you are a great guitar player.... No sweet solos are needed or fancy breakdowns to make a song entertaining and good to the ears... What you're doing is fine... It sounds good, so please keep it up and don't let anyone say otherwise... You write your simple music for now, and when you become a better guitar player you can write more advanced material

Done. And Smok3 I completely agree that dificulty doesn't matter and its stupid to change your opinion about a song because its easy to play I just wasn't positive that was why he changed his mind so I felt I should refrain from saying anything that might start a flamewar.

Plus, you will always get those people who have different opinions... And thats why opinions are so great and people have different styles in music... also, you will get those people who are influenced by what others say. Now, there's a little bit of a problem. But, since you can't stop it... just pay it no attention. The majority of the people like it, so my best advice is to keep it and keep up the hardwork

Man, I really like this song. esp the guitar. the bending is a little distracting. I keep playing over and over. it reminds me of bright eyes, and then at some parts your voice reminds me of Lindsay Buckingham...idk why. i can't really hear your voice tho, so idk.
