I'm rooting for Lance. He's not just a cyclist, he's so much more than that for so many people. I'd like to see him win his last Tour. :)

Bump for Lance's amazing day in the Alps today. Here's the link to an article-

In the last week or so, I have read both of Lance Armstrong's books. I always wanted to read them, and I finally decided to read both of them last week. They were both amazing and I couldn't stop reading it. I highly recommend that everyone read them, you will gain a new respect for him.
Edit- New avatar. He deserves to be my avatar after having a day like that.

There's two? I read one of them, but forget what it's called. Good read though.

It's Not About the Bike and Every Second Counts are their names. It's Not About the Bike seems to be much better liked, but I liked both a lot.

I cant seem to get too excited about people riding bikes....
Seriously though, I know theres a lot more to the Tour De France then that....I can ride a bike, but there is no way I could do what those riders do. I respect those athletes for what they do, and especially Lance Armstrong for going through what he did to win 6 in a row, but its just not my thing I guess.
And early on, Lance is looking pretty good. Last I remember hearing, he already had a 1 minute lead.

I'd say biking may be the hardest of any sport. The only thing harder may be a triathlete.

^ You know what, it might not be, yes it is 3 different event, BUT, you are riding longer than all 3 events combined, and thats just one day.
90 miles uphill seems harder then a triathelon

The Tour has turned into a madhouse. First off, security should be way better to keep idiots off the course. Today, a guy ran in front of Lance and some other dudes for about 100 meters, waving a Columbian flag behind him. And just to not seem like an uptight guy, how about this: You're in fourth. You want to get to first. But, between you and the top three is a CONVOY OF CARS.
I will say this. The Tour is more than just a physical race.

wow, its been a long time since ive been to this site. yeah, that fella with the columbian flag was dodgy, however its great to see that the millions of people that do turn out to watch the tour are respectful enough to the riders to keep their distance and not get in the way. phil ligget was saying during one of the telecasts that the drivers of the team cars are normally pretty top riders themselves, in some cases ex or injured pros, so they have a fair idea of what the riders are up to and are pretty good at keeping out of the way. i absolutely love le tour, best sporting event in the world

There are many, many worse episodes than that. Lance was amazing in the Pyrenees yesterday.

It's definitely looking good for Lance.
As if it ever looked bad (this year). :p

I heard about that, but they haven't shown it again on anything I've seen. I think Lance looks just as good as he did last year, it doesn't seem like its really that hard for him, which is awesome.

There not gonna show a guy getting hit by a motorcycle, unless some guy got it on film and put it on Ebaums or something.
I think he's got a good shot at winning again, he needs another big stage win to get another good 30-40 seconds, maybe a minute on the rest of the field

Congrats to Lance. He's been through so much, and he's such a great inspiration to not only cancer patients, but to everybody.

What a story.
Coming back from three cancers, surviving them, and winning seven straight Tour de France's in a row.

It's sad that we're losing an icon in the sports world. He'll still be around for a while, but he won't be riding. :(

At least he plans to do something good. We don't know what he's going to do but I bet he'll help out people stricken with cancer.

The most amazing thing is how easy he made it seem. It felt like he pretty much coasted through the race. Amazing.

Truth. Cool story, Lance went to a doctor who tested oxygen levels for professional athletes, and at 16, Lance had the highest lung capacity the doctor had ever seen.

Yeah, I think he'll stay in the media spotlight with stuff like that. It just sucks that he won't be riding a bike for a living.

If he doesn't get some kind of award in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year later on this year then there is no justice.
Congrats to Lance.
